MORNING MANNA: MATTHEW 4:1-10

The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert. There the devil tempted him. 2 After 40 days and 40 nights of going without eating, Jesus was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him. He said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written, 'Man doesn't live only on bread. He also lives on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' ” –(Deuteronomy 8:3) 5 Then the devil took Jesus to the holy city. He had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. It is written,“'The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you. They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won’t trip over a stone.' ” – (Psalm 91:11,12) 7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.' ”–(Deuteronomy 6:16) 8 Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. He showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “If you bow down and worship me,” he said, “I will give you all of this.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Get away from me, Satan! It is written, 'Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.' ” – (Deuteronomy 6:13)

GOOD MANNA… FED MY SPIRIT THIS MORNING!

BEING HIS - ONLY HIS- SUBMITTED IN PURPOSE

My spirit is fed with sustenance of wisdom that speaks volumes to my heart as I read today how the Lord spoke to satan demanding that he serve God alone, after He made the right choices each time of being only God’s, by choosing the path of His purposes over the enemies tempting of an easier way.

BEING HIS – ONLY HIS – YEILDED IN PERSECUTION!

Wow, immediately after I partook of this Morning Manna, I was given much food for my thoughts! When I thought of Jesus in the desert after 40 days and 40 nights of fasting, I emphasized with His feeling “very uncomfortable”, to say the least! Then we read and see how the enemy began to aggravate and tempt Jesus! My first thought was that this is adding insult to injury upon a very hungry, emotionally tired and physically weak Jesus! Have you ever been there and experienced that?! I have! Jesus was being tempted, tested and tried after a very long, exhausting 40 days! I am thinking today about what my first human reaction would have been in a similar situation. I really think I would have found a way to rationalize that making the bread out of stones was okay! I was in charge, I had the power, I was starving and I could do it! What about you? Would you make bread?!

BEING HIS – ONLY HIS – DEPENDENT IN ALL- EVERYTHING!

BUT JESUS! His first response was not to His body, but His choice arose out of His Spirit to Spirit relationship with God The Father. Jesus did not react to the conditions of His flesh, He responded to the truth that He did not live by bread alone, but dependent upon the Words, Manna of His Father God. I love the decisiveness of Jesus as He made His decision to depend upon God in His all and everything! His first response showed that He was being found in God, and only for God! Dependent!

BEING HIS – ONLY HIS – KINGDOM ROOTED!

Jesus was not rooted to this world and He proved it by always being God’s alone in every situation He faced being tempted by the devil, He put The Kingdom of God first! The proof of His Holy Alliance with His Father God is a testimony left purposely to inspire us as we read about His encounters with satan! Jesus, at the worst possible time when His flesh was good and hungry was being tempted to turn a stone into bread, which He could do! Yet, He did not feed His flesh first, instead He depended upon God’s Manna to keep Him Kingdom focused! Good Morning, Good Manna will always feed you a heavenly meal that will keep you from giving in to temptation and cause You to choose to Be Only His! Connected To Jesus! Being His-Only! Kingdom Rooted!
