Curve Ball

Love is patient; love is kind. Love isn’t envious, doesn’t boast, brag, or strut about. There’s no arrogance in love; it’s never rude, crude, or indecent—it’s not self-absorbed. Love isn’t easily upset. Love doesn’t tally wrongs 6 or celebrate injustice; but truth—yes, truth—is love’s delight!  Love puts up with anything and everything that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what. Love will never become obsolete. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God. But now faith, hope, and love remain; these three virtues must characterize our lives. The greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-6;12-13

Home Run

We hope you will pray for your family today so that all the curve balls thrown against you, your family will be able to hit them out of the park for a win. In our family life, the enemy of our soul, loves to pitch those curve balls that we just love to hate! We swing hard and miss! We take our eye off the ball and it catches us off guard. As we can see in the Word of God (1 Corinthians 13:4-13) our Family Bible, is our most valuable player in the game of life in our family dynamics. As our family members let the Word of God transform us, (Romans 12:1-3) we won’t be swinging and missing, we will be able to love like Jesus loves. Today we pray that our family will stay in the Word, becoming transformed by it, so we can hit any curve ball thrown at us, straight out of the park for a home run, a point scored for our family life.

What Parades Through Your Living Room?

Our Vital-Vertical, personal relationship with God matters so much for our family life as a whole! When we choose to love, we are not doing so in our own strength, the love of God is in us, and works through us! It is so cool to know that when we love others, God’s love is also in us, working through us and running it course. We never love alone, God loves through us. How cool is that!? It is very amazing, especially knowing the quality of God’s Love, it is awesome! Does the love paraded through the living room of your home resemble the love shown to us by Jesus? God’s love was a daring love, it was not afraid to self-sacrifice for us all. (John 3:16-17) God’s love is all in with us. Does this resemble the love of your family? Are you all in with each other? Do you quit on each other? Or do you forbear with each other? (Colossians 3:13) The love of Jesus displayed for us was not an easy love, it wasn’t comfortable, it was courageous and selfless. Is self off the throne in your family life? Pray for your family right now that Jesus will be on the throne of your home, and everyone will be all in with Him, in His Word and resembling the truth.

What Does The Mirror Of Your Soul Reflect?

When we sacrifice for our family members, we celebrate our friendship with God, because His love, it is exactly like that, all in for us, it is sacrificial, it is selfless. God’s love chose us, imperfect human beings, and we should never get over this. He loves us, all of our family members, unconditionally. He wants us to do the same, love our family members as He loves us.  When you look in the mirror do you see a rude, self seeking person, or do you see a humble, selfless giver like Jesus? (Philippians 2:3-8) Jesus loves us unconditionally in a kind and merciful way. This is the best kind of love, the best we will ever know and is the best for our family life. Unconditional love, it gives us room to grow and become more like Him. This is the kind of love we need in our family lives. Pray for your family to have a merciful, kind, graceful, unconditional love for each other. Listen up to this 1 Minute Encouragement Video and let it shape your heart with its God wisdom:

My son, do not ignore the Eternal’s instruction or lose heart when He steps in to correct you; Because the Eternal proves His love by caring enough to discipline you, just as a father does his child, his pride and joy. How fortunate are those who discover Lady Wisdom and those who understand her ways! For her worth is greater than the most expensive prize you could win. Her profit is greater than the finest thing you could buy. No gem is more precious than she is—your most extravagant desire doesn’t come close to her. She holds the secret of a long life in one hand and riches and fame in her other hand. Her ways are pleasant; all of her pathways are peaceful. She is like a tree that produces a satisfied life for anyone who can wrap their arms around her; happiness waits for any who hold her tight. Proverbs 3:11-18

Our Family Is God-Equipped With Wisdom!

God‘s love is proved by His caring discipline as He is growing us through family life. (Hebrews 12:3-13) This personal fidelity, God being willing to grow through with us as we learn and grow in His truth and wisdom, is so beneficial for our family life, so much so, we should stop and thank God for it right now! God has equipped our family with truth. He has put it on our heart. (Jeremiah 31:33) It’s a Wisdom, like no other, God’s truth. This is the love that He has given us, that he doesn’t withhold His discipline from us  because He cares about us enough to make us better, and keep us aligned with His wisdom. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) This is not condemnation, (Romans 3:1-5)  it is conviction given from a place of love. Where there is not love in our family life, God will make the crooked places straight. (Isaiah 45:1-6) He does this because He loves us, because He knows the pathway of His truth leads to peace in our family. God knows that our lives will be satisfied in Him, making us less selfish people. God’s love at its finest is seen as we walk with God’s truth as a family, applying it and recognizing what He is teaching our family is best for us. We pray for God to discipline our family in the truth of love, so we will love each other well, and reflect His love throughout our family life, in the good times and in the bad times, we love each other well.
