Planted In Truth
We are safe when we are not running after our emotions, because this is usually when we stumble right into the pit the enemy has dug for us. When we are planted in the truth and not swayed by anything in this life, but are leaning into God’s Sovereign Sway, we can thrive in ways we never thought possible. Say NO To Emotional Outbursts
God does not want us serving our emotions. He wants us to be wholly-holy, trusting in Him and bringing our emotional expectations to Him, letting Him sort out the lies, and leave us with truth. Emotions can become one of our greatest weaknesses as we allow the enemy to trick us, target us, and tempt us with our emotions. When we have an incident where we lose control of our emotions, and we “flesh out” in a manner of speaking, it means that we emotionally throw up all over somebody, the enemies scheming has prospered over us. How sad is that? We can change it up so easily, with God, this is not a hard fix. God is our Fixer!
Yield To God
Why do we keep yielding to our weakness, instead of yielding to God? If we are tricked into troubles, by letting our soul enemy, who loves to craftily shove us into strife, trick us into an emotional tizzy fit, we’re gonna have troubles that dead end us. There is no worse feeling than being dead ended, knowing it was our choice that put us there. The worst part is, we lose the favor of God, the fellowship of God, and our honor, which is established through a godly reputation. All Of Our Everything
This should be the position of our lives, yielded to God, as He becomes our all in our everything. We need to acknowledge Him in our ways, knowing that He is the one who holds our destiny and it’s timing in His hands, and when we do that we’re less apt to take control of our lives, and that never ends well. We should take our emotions to God. Period. Talk God first! These soul reactions come from basically a place of deception. We are deceived to believe that God is not enough for us, and that we have to make our own way.
Translated To Truth
When we take our emotions to God, He translates them into truth, and helps us to see the reality of truth instead of feeling the prickery-trickery of the enemy. God helps us settle our emotions with truth and navigates us out of the way of enemy traps to walk in truth. When we’re in a tough situation that is stirring up our emotions, God will give us wisdom, He’ll show us what to do next, and that kind of counsel is what leads to successful living where we thrive in God.
The way you counsel me makes me praise you more, for your whispers in the night give me wisdom, showing me what to do next. Because I set you, Yahweh, always close to me, my confidence will never be weakened, for I experience your wraparound presence every moment. My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure. For you will not abandon me to the realm of death, nor will you allow your Faithful One to experience corruption. Psalms 16:7-10 TPT
