Wait

Growing Through Patiently

Impulsive

Waiting is not something we can do in our human condition without God’s direction, the help of His Holy Spirit. We are impatient people who lean into impulsive behavior traits that cause us more trouble than we could ever imagine.

Patiently Endure

A surfer is someone we can take some godly wisdom from. They sit and they wait for the right wave, the one they know they can ride in all the way to shore. We need to learn to patiently endure, be a people who are waiting on God.

Psalm 27:10-14 My father and mother abandoned me. I’m like an orphan! But you took me in and made me yours. Now teach me all about your ways and tell me what to do. Make it clear for me to understand, for I am surrounded by waiting enemies. Don’t let them defeat me, Lord. You can’t let me fall into their clutches! They keep accusing me of things I’ve never done while they plot evil against me. Yet I totally trust you to rescue me one more time, so that I can see once again how good you are while I’m still alive! Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you! The Passion Translation

Spiritual Habit

As God’s people we need to make a spiritual habit out of waiting, one we exercise from every moment to every choice. Being impulsive, not waiting on God, we walk into the traps of the enemy and usually end up dead ended. This is our enemies favorite thing to do to God’s people, back them in a dead ended corner.

Wait For Permanent

Wait on God! Don’t exchange what is good, pure, holy and right because we can’t wait on God. Don’t go with what is seen, the easy, the simple, the temporary pleasures of this life. Wait on God. Wait on God, wait for what is right, good, holy and pure. Wait on God to move, because He is on the move, His good purposes are in play in the unseen for our good. Exercise your faith and increase your faith as You wait for God’s way of truth and life to be worked out to the seen. God’s way is a way of permanence and this world’s way is temporary, a quick fix. Wait on God!

Psalm 25:4-7 Lord, direct me throughout my journey so I can experience your plans for my life. Reveal the life-paths that are pleasing to you. Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me. For you are the God of my increasing salvation; I have wrapped my heart into yours! Forgive my failures as a young man, and overlook the sins of my immaturity. Give me grace, Lord! Always look at me through your eyes of love—your forgiving eyes of mercy and compassion. When you think of me, see me as one you love and care for. How good you are to me! The Passion Translation

Vital-Vertical

Be a person whose vital-vertical relationship with God is a followship of His way, voice, truth and life in the all of your everything. Make the right choice the first time as you face your everyday challenges of this life. Wait on God to direct you through the challenging times. Why? Because every great challenge we face always has God purpose in play at the center of the challenge. The challenge is NEVER greater than the God purpose in play. God’s purposes during our challenge is GREATER than the challenge we face.

God’s Purposes

The Providential Care of God has two purposes in play in our lives and we must wait until God perfectly works out these purposes in our situation. God’s purpose is to bring glory to His Kingdom and good to us. It is not easy to work out His Providential care in the messes we have created through our human condition, our everyday reactions that flesh out our impatience. God will create a God glorifying message out of our human messes if we wait on Him. Cling to God, dig your life roots deeply in Him, let Your identity be found in Christ and your decisions be made from your vital-vertical connection with God.
