Family Prayer -10 Drifting

This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course. For if the message of the law spoken and confirmed by angels brought a just penalty to every disobedient violation; then how would we expect to escape punishment if we despise the very truths that give us life? The Lord himself was the first to announce these things, and those who heard him firsthand confirmed their accuracy. Then God added his witness to theirs. He validated their ministry with signs, astonishing wonders, all kinds of powerful miracles, and by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which he distributed as he desired. Hebrews 2:1-4

No Compromise

It is so easy to get distracted by the enemy of our soul and drift away from God, from what we know is right, to a little step in the wrong direction. This is called compromise. Rationalizing a wrong choice is called drifting away from God. Drifting from the Living Word of God to the lies of the enemy, the father of lies. This is what our enemy loves, drifting, us drifting away from God’s true love, to false love, temporary in nature, this is what the enemy offers us. God is true love. Vital-Vertical Relationship

I call my relationship with God: A Vital-Vertical Relationship. The vertical must be strong in order for the horizontal to be alive, active and adding value to people’s lives. Isn’t it amazing that the vertical and the horizontal together make a cross. Jesus showed us this vital-vertical relationship as He walked the earth, depending upon His Father God. Jesus did not drift away from His vital-vertical relationship with the Father God, as His horizontal life reached out with God’s power to all the world.

So Jesus said, “I speak to you eternal truth. The Son is unable to do anything from himself or through his own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as his Father. “Because the Father loves his Son so much, he always reveals to him everything that he is about to do. And you will all be amazed when he shows him even greater works than what you’ve seen so far! John 5:19-20

Drifting Away

Drift means that we are continuously moving from one position to the other. It is so easy to get distracted by the things of this world. The truth is that where our eyes focus, our body, soul, spirit will go off in that direction Before we even realize it, we have drifted and we are out of wholly-holy alignment with God. Following after satisfying our five senses instead of loving God first, we make that little compromise, one step in the wrong direction and we drift away from God.

Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’ This is the great and supreme commandment. Matthew 22:37-38

God First

Precious family, I pray for us, for each one of us that we don’t drift away from God, His way, truth and life. I hope for us to stay “Word Strong”, keeping the Word of God and our personal Vital-Vertical relationship with Jesus as our top priority in our life. Help us Lord God not to be distracted or enticed by good things, or fleeting pleasures, when the best thing is Jesus, who is our enough. I pray that our family will choose Jesus, to love Him first, wholly-holy so.

True love for God means obeying his commands, and his commands don’t weigh us down as heavy burdens. You see , every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. So who are the world conquerors, defeating its power ? Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:3-5

A Word Strong Family

Father God, keep this family “Word Strong”! The living Word of God in our hearts, in us and through our lives, acted out in passionate obedience unto the One we love. Father, we pray for our family that our Vital-Vertical relationship with You will be alive, living and active. May the passion of our will to walk with You, to stay positioned, and not drift from underneath Your Banner of Love, be our first passion in this life. Keep us positioned underneath Your Rulership of Love by the navigation of Your Holy Spirit.

Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place. But those who don’t love me will not obey my words. The Father did not send me to speak my own revelation, but the words of my Father. I am telling you this while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you. John 14:23-26

In Jesus’ Name

No drifting for this family in Jesus name. We declare and decree that no weapon formed against this family will prosper, that we will stay wholly-holy aligned heart to heart with God. We declare and decree in the power of the name of Jesus, no drifting for this family as we fall deeper and deeper in love with Jesus and His Word is alive in us.

You’re only truly happy when you walk in total integrity, walking in the light of God’s Word. What joy overwhelms everyone who keeps the ways of God, those who seek him as their heart’s passion! They’ll never do what’s wrong but will always choose the paths of the Lord. God has prescribed the right way to live: obeying his laws with all our hearts. How I long for my life to bring you glory as I follow each and every one of your holy precepts! Psalms 119:1-5

Pray For Your Family

We pray that in our family, our first passion will be to believe in Jesus Christ, our Proven One. We will yield our lives to knowing The Father God, our Proof. We will listen up for the Voice of the Holy Spirit, our Prover. The enemy will not entice us, distract us, or trick us, to drift away from God. We declare and decree our family to be in a strong Vital-Vertical relationship with God, heart to heart. We pray our family has a first passion and that is not of this world, but a passion to believe in Jesus Christ, to seek His truth, His way, and His life, and daily be navigated by His Holy Spirit. We pray our family will not just believe in Jesus Christ, but believe Him!

Jesus replied, “Let me make this very clear, you came looking for me because I fed you by a miracle, not because you believe in me. Why would you strive for food that is perishable and not be passionate to seek the food of eternal life, which never spoils? I, the Son of Man, am ready to give you what matters most, for God the Father has destined me for this purpose.” They replied, “So what should we do if we want to do God’s work?” Jesus answered, “The work you can do for God starts with believing in the One he has sent. John 6:26-29
