Our Soul Shivers In This Present Darkness
Darkness comes in like a flood, it makes our soul shiver, but God’s sliver of light, enlightens our darkness with hope. We can hope in the dark as deceit surrounds us on all sides causing despair to rise in our heart because as we open our heart wide to God, He drops that sliver of light to shatter the darkness with His truth. Against us are the wicked hearts full of the violent trickery of dark deeds, yet, God is with us. Our shiver of fear is shut down by His Sliver of Light, the brilliance of His truth, a revelation which exposes the dark deeds of evil prevailing against right and good. God is able to defeat our enemies, so we patiently endure with faith and hope, which lights up our darkness and shatters our shiver of fear with the reality of God’s truth and peace. A sliver of God’s light, this is all we need to shatter the darkness of deception. Listen up to this 1 Minute Encouragement Video:
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:17-19
“We are, from a human point of view, often at the mercy of other people and their decisions or actions. Sometimes those decisions or actions are benevolent and good; sometimes they are wicked or careless. Either way they do affect us, often in a significant way. How are we to respond when we find ourselves seemingly in the hands of someone else, when we desperately need a favorable decision or a favorable action on that person’s part? Can we trust God that He can and will work in the heart of that individual to bring about His plan for us?” Jerry Bridges – Excerpt From Trusting God Even When Life Hurts
Sad Testimony Of Hopelessness
I was at an intersection waiting for the light to change and there was a young man with a bicycle, and it was obvious that everything he had was attached to the bike. He was ranting and raving, screaming at us all saying: “What am I supposed to do? I am working two jobs and still I can’t afford somewhere to live.” Then he started cussing, yelling, raving, raging, and telling us that no one cared that he was trying as hard as he could and he still could not make it. My heart broke. I knew that if this young man, no matter what people gave him, it would not be enough. Nothing that human beings can do for us is enough. We need God. Attached to God, nourished by God, led by God, fed by God, our soul is good and our needs for each day are met. I did not give him any money because he was in such a rage, that I was afraid it wasn’t safe to roll down my window to him. But, I prayed that this young man would come to know Jesus, and I knew that was the best thing I could do for him in that moment. I keep hoping he would go from rage, to repentance, to renewal, to renovation, to restoration all because of the resurrection power of God, which I hope one day He will surrender his life to.
Lamentations 3:19-23 The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.
God’s Faithfulness Is Our Sliver Of Light
Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. The need is for a vital-vertical relationship with God. We were created for this and without it, there is a gaping whole in our soul. Christianity is a paradox because to be full, you pour out your heart before God. The best way to live this life is to open our heart wide and let God fill it. I absolutely love being filled with the deep clarity of knowing God’s will, knowing spiritual wisdom first through the lens of a Kingdom perspective. Often we should pray this: Jesus give us comprehensive insight by the light of Your life, Your way, Your truth and the flow of Your purposes in our lives. Today we hope to discern from our worldly viewpoint, what Your Kingdom perspective is, what You are doing for here, there and unto forever. We only see in part, but You, Lord God have the whole picture and that is why we need to trust You more and most. Honestly, this is where we need to be, positioned in faith, especially now. It is hard to get there, to that place of trust and belief when the chaos of our culture is hitting us right where we live. There is no doubt about it, we need to activate our faith. How do we keep an active faith? By every moment to every choice choosing the permanent over the temporary. God is so faithful to be with us and for us! We cling to God; we dig our life roots deeply into His Kingdom. We are becoming and we pray to become like the truth and wisdom in Galatians 6:14.
But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14
God’s Enfugeo Lights Up Our Dark World
These are dark times and we do need that sliver of light, the light of God’s Truth in our dark time that gives us a focus off of fear. We should not fear, and this is easier said than done when we have so many people in authority in our nation whose souls are rotting with the stank of immorality. Yes, the dark side of the human condition is makingchoices for us, yet our destiny remains in God’s Hands. No one changes that but Him. Yet, we do need to pray for those making decisions that affect our lives, darkening our worldly viewpoint. I pray this, and hope you join me: Lord God, Simply-Significantly direct the hearts of those who are making decisions for us. Way Maker God, change it up in their hearts, change their attitudes, change their motives, change their minds sets, speak what is true, and smash their idols. Holy Spirit, control their minds, hearts, words and actions in that way only YOU can sovereignly influence them, for our good and Your glory. Jesus, let it be so. Father God, favor us, as we know Your Holy Spirit, navigates us into Your good purposes. We acknowledge the truth that our days are destined by You, Lord God, not by deplorable people who serve no higher power than self. Mysteriously-Miraculously move the will of those in authority, to lean into Your Sovereign Sway. Let it be so, Jesus, Your purpose be set in play by Your Hand of favor for us, for our good. In Jesus Name. Amen! In closing, listen up to this 1 Minute Encouragement Video:
