“For our exhortation didn’t come from error or impurity or an intent to deceive. Instead, just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please people, but rather God, who examines our hearts. For we never used flattering speech, as you know, or had greedy motives — God is our witness — and we didn’t seek glory from people, either from you or from others. Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nurse nurtures her own children. We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.” 1Thessalonians 2:3-8 CSB
Paul cared for people just as a mother would care for her child (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8). He didn’t see people as projects or throw his weight around claiming he was better than them. He only discipled them because he wanted them grow in their faith and take next steps. Paul’s discipleship was remarkable because it was both effective and selfless. Bible Plan
Why Do I Share Posts With Others On Social Media
What is my motive for sharing the Gospel with others on social media or other ways? Is it for exhorting and encouraging others? Am I sharing for me to be famous or for God to be famous? Am I sharing to point people to me or to God? Am I looking for a reaction that makes me feel good or a response from others that causes them to seek after God?
Am I Seeking Personal Approval? What Is My Motive?
There is aways a motive to what we do. Is my motive purely about Jesus, or about me, about my need for approval, likes, or to be known? Is what I do 100 percent for God and His Kingdom? Is what I say, write or post for God’s glory or for me to be liked, echoed or parlayed? My motives, what are they? Should I be more aware of the reason I am doing something? Why am I posting to an audience? Is it for me or someone else?
Is My Heart Undivided Or Divided? Listen Up:
Matthew 6: 31-33 “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. Living Bible
Undivided Heart
Do I have an undivided heart? Part for me. Part for God. Can we become so addicted to the need to be liked, for that pat on the back, for self-praise that we can drift off mission for God? Am I seeking God’s Kingdom first? Or am I seeking approval from this world? What we do should be for an audience of ONE and should be navigated and impassioned by this same ONE, Jesus Christ. Put God first, let Him be your audience of One and everything in your life will fall together pleasantly.
