Success Is A Slippery Slope
In our human condition, we get obsessed with so many things, trying to “feel” good enough, be accomplished and successful. When, truly, chasing our feelings, is not a good choice, only if you like dead ends! Yes, and a second truly is this fact, that our only success, comes from Jesus Christ working his life in us and through us. Success is a slippery slope, like climbing up a steep muddy hill, but it is possible as we are navigated by God. We can show the world true success, as we cling to God, dig our life roots deeply in Him and remain in followship, steadfast and faithful to Him. This is true success.Christ In Me!
The Enslaved Human Condition
We are all the same, with the same human condition, none of us are good enough. What makes us chase after so many things that enslave us to pursing things that don’t matter? We desperately want to matter. We want to be good enough to excel, to be noticed, to be successful in the eyes of people. We want to be seen, to stand out in that way where we fit in with prestigious people. We were not born to fit in, we were born to stand out. We want to be positioned in success. Yet, God has already positioned us in success, by the way He has uniquely shaped and personally designed us. Our human condition, desiring to matter, comparing ourselves to others, these things enslave us and are pretty difficult task masters. Chasing after human success, we often become a slave to our wants, as the enemy entices us with temptation and we begin to desire human supremacy, title and position over others, at whatever cost it takes to get it, even us drifting away from God and becoming deplorable human beings.
James 1:12-15 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. The Passion Translation
Human Wantings
Human wantings, may turn out well for us if and that is a big IF, our desire leads us to Jesus Christ. Everything we so desperately want and chase after, we can’t will it into being for ourselves, and if we try, this never turns out well. Why? Because our will power fades out, it does not endure the hardships of time. When we take our desires to God, they all begin with Jesus. The starting point of success is Jesus, and it is with Him, in faithfulness of followship of Him, with, to and for God. Yes, a good enough life, it begins with God in us, it starts with, Christ in me, the hope of glory, the One Who always finishes well.
I am not complaining about having too little. I have learned to be satisfied with whatever I have. I know what it is to be poor or to have plenty, and I have lived under all kinds of conditions. I know what it means to be full or to be hungry, to have too much or too little. Christ gives me the strength to face anything. Philippians 4:11-13 CEV
Human Happiness
We chase after happiness, we search, grasp and claw for it. Nothing will fill us, nothing will satisfy us, and we will never be good enough, no matter how much we strive to be. Who we need for the source of our happiness, is Jesus Christ. It is only Christ in us, Who makes us right, great, successful and faithful, but in Him we can find true happiness, joy! There are many things in this life that may seem to be unattainable and impossible, but things are not as they seem and when we fasten our lives to Jesus and hook up our shield of faith with His family, things will definitely look much better as the impossible becomes possible.
As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. Romans 3:10-12; 23-25
The Human Race
There is freedom in the truth that in Christ, we can do all things. No one is better than anyone else. We are all part of the human race, human beings. We are all the same, we all possess the same human condition which has a leaning to the port side of deplorable, me first behavior, which always leads us into failure of character. No one is good, no not one. If someone is making you feel like you are not good enough, that you can’t achieve, that you will never be able to be successful, remember they are exactly the same as you, they are human with the same weakness, the same human condition. We can do all things connected heart to heart with God, in vital-vertical relationship with Him. In Christ, and together with His family, we are always better.
Who is among you who fears the Lord, Who obeys the voice of His Servant, Yet who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust and be confident in the name of the Lord and let him rely on his God. Listen carefully, all you who kindle your own fire [devising your own man-made plan of salvation], Who surround yourselves with torches, walk by the light of your [self-made] fire and among the torches that you have set ablaze. But this you will have from My hand: You will lie down in [a place of] torment. Isaiah 50:10-11 Amplified Bible
Glow God’s Glory
It is so easy in times where we are desperately chasing after the things of this world, to fall into the bad habit of kindling our own fires and walking by the light of a man-made fire. A fire started by a human being, will flame out and leave us in the dark. So, I say, open your heart wide to God so, the Christ in us, shines forever. We must choose to walk by the Light of God at all times, being navigated by God’s Holy Spirit. With Christ in us, we will never flame out, we will shine brightly for the world to see. Christ in us, the hope of glory. Let others see in us the truth we know, the truth of God, that He is more than enough for us in this world. Be a light that can never be extinguished. Chase after Jesus, open your heart wide to Him, know Him personally. Let go of your human striving for things this world says will make you happy and let God fill You to overflowing with His joy. It is the overflow of our vital-vertical relationship with God, which splashes out all over everyone else, this is our anointing of greatness, our strength and our success. Jesus Christ in us, our hope of glory, our happiness, our satisfaction, the very thing that becomes an all-consuming JOY, an attractive brilliance in all things, a splendorific radiance that this world can never put out, even with all its deceptive, pessimistic pandering.
