Psalm 42: 6-11 My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon–from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me– a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God my Rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?” 10 My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Pray It Up
Lord, my heart goes out to those who are stuck in spiritual depression. Why? Because I have been there and You have delivered me from that deep, dark pit. Today, I hope to be used by God, His prayer mentor, to encourage those who are stuck in the pit of depression, and I to bring the light of Your hope to them that will enlighten their darkness of soul.
“Hope is like a golden cord connecting you to heaven. The more you cling to this cord, the more I bear the weight of your burdens; heaviness is not of My Kingdom. Cling to hope, and My rays of Light will reach you through the darkness.”

God Hear Us
Jesus, thank you for sharing Your heart with us. I know when I pray, You hear it. You understand us Jesus, You have walked in our shoes, and that makes Your empathy for us oh, so very real and your encouragement, oh, so very powerful. You have such amazing compassion for the downtrodden, the underdog, those whose heads are bowed by depression. You love them so much and want to deliver them from the clutches of depression. We pray You do, we pray You shatter the darkness of depression in all those we love and know who are struggling with it.
Depression Breaks Hearts
Depression has broken many souls. Yet, without a DOUBT, we know God is with us. Your heart may be broken, but God protects your spirit, it is untouched. God uses our depressed, broken hearts purposefully so and He mends them with hope and great God wisdom. Without a doubt, God hears the cries of the broken and He answers in that special way only He can.
