Easter Satisfaction
Jesus: I am the resurrection and the source of all life; those who believe in Me will live even in death. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never truly die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26 The Voice
A Better Experience
What is Easter all about for you and your family? Chocolate bunnies and baskets? Easter egg hunts? Are these at the center of your Easter experience? Yes, I agree that chocolate is good and Easter egg hunts are fun, but there is a better experience of Easter, the real reason for Easter ushers in the best of Easter, the best that is yet to come for all of our families.
The Insatiable Human Condition
There is no experience the world can offer us that can keep our human senses fully satisfied? Can you even think of a time in your family life that you were not seeking for a satisfying experience, a satisfying food, a satisfying relationship? Our humanity has an insatiable need for Jesus and we don’t even realize that He is the Who and What we are seeking to fill that empty feeling that never seems to be satisfied.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 New Living Translation
Created For Eternity
We were created for eternity, created with a God shaped whole in our souls and nothing in this world can make us totally happy or keep our families satisfied. We will never feel complete without Jesus in our hearts, we will search and try all kinds of things offered by this world to try to fill our need for the chocolate fix, the need for the sweeter side of life that all humans want to experience.
The More You Get The More You Want
Of course, we want things to be just perfect in our family lives. We want things to be work out exactly the way we think they should so we can fill our lives with human satisfaction. We want to experience the “chocolate way” of life. Chocolate and sweets are so comfortable with us. They are the nice things of life. We want them all the time and the more we get them, the more we want of them. We want our family life to be just so sweet!
Unfulfilled? Dissatisfied?
We pursue this type of living where we comfortably fill our baskets with eggs left out for us, eggs filled with the sweeter things of life. The problem with this way of living life is that it just doesn’t work out that way at times. We have a bully who pushes us out of the way and steals all the eggs, leaving us feeling left out, hurt and unfulfilled. We stand disappointed with empty baskets in a world full of eggs. Why doesn’t it always work out for us to find the eggs?
Isaiah 58:11 I will always guide you. I will satisfy your needs in a land baked by the sun. I will make you stronger. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water. You will be like a spring whose water never runs dry. Isaiah 58:11 NIRV
Insatiable Human Desire
Why do we even chase after eggs that eventually rot? This world offers us nothing that we can keep forever. It is a momentary pleasure, that sweet taste of chocolate, that winning of the most eggs, but it is gone in a second and leaves us craving for more. Jesus, the true reality of Easter, He fills us forever, He takes away the insatiable human desires in us and completely satisfies our human need. Jesus is forever.
Human Flesh Is Commanding
Satisfying our flesh is a commanding thing. You can tell it is influential because we human beings desperately pursue it, this satisfaction. It is something we diligently give our lives too and sometimes we give our lives for the insatiable desire that others also have for it. People will kill, steal and destroy for the human need of satisfaction and a focus on feeding our fleshly desires, thist can powerfully change the course of our lives.
A Powerful Satisfaction
Jesus died our death, so we could live His life. Jesus’ life is one of total satisfaction. Inside the life of Jesus, there is a powerful satisfaction that takes over our soul completely. We no longer search, our inner quest is satisfied in this Easter Savior, Who is able, Who can, and Who will meet our needs every single day. In Christ Jesus we will never want for more, He is our enough and at the center of our home, we will have Him in the all of our everything. A family who serves God first, is a family God’s purposes are in play for good.
I wish that my words could be written down or chiseled into rock. I know that my Savior lives, and at the end he will stand on this earth. My flesh may be destroyed, yet from this body I will see God. Job 19:23-26 CEV
Resurrection Power? Do You Know It?
Seeking daily satisfaction from the world is likened to “doing” life by the seat of your pants. Being found in the resurrected power of Jesus Christ is living with a forever satisfied soul that is growing forward in great God adventures. Pursuing worldly satisfaction steals our freedom, yet when we yield to God, giving Him total access to our lives, chasing after Him for our satisfaction, we know freedom and we experience ressurection power, alive in us. Are you experiencing this resurrection power of Jesus and being found satisfied in Him. Does the world tug at your soul in ways that make your humanity impulsive? Or have you settled your soul with the satisfaction of Jesus Christ?
Which Do You Choose?
It is your destiny to be completely satisfied in Jesus Christ. Easter in the eyes of the world is offering a basket of satisfaction that does not last. Easter in the eyes of the Kingdom of God, is the giving of a forever satisfaction by the Creator of our lives, Who knew exactly what our human nature needed to be satisfied forever. Which one do you choose? Once for all or a life of empty searching? Jesus came to us, to give His life for us and this selfless act of sacrifice ushered in the greatest transformation mankind would ever know. Death to life. Change it up. Come to Jesus. One decision to accept Jesus as your Savior, transforms your all in your everything, forever.
A Miraculous Edge
Living life with a “miraculous edge” is what we were created to be like. Doing life by kindling our own fires and walking by the light of a man made fire (Isaiah 50:10-12) is such a temporary satisfaction. Man-made fires burn out and they leave ashes behind that scatter in the wind, leaving smudges on everything and everyone. Hope in the dark. Being found in Jesus is likened to a glory glow of passion in our hearts that never flames out, leaving a living legacy that lightens up the hope of everyone who comes in contact with its memory.
So do not consume yourselves with questions: What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? Outsiders make themselves frantic over such questions; they don’t realize that your heavenly Father knows exactly what you need. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these things will be given to you too. Matthew 6:31-33 The Voice
Are You World Focused?
We all naturally will try to “do” life out of our own strength, to satisfy our wants, it is our “human condition” that we have to subdue daily and allow God’s Kingdom to grow in us. We are so “world focused”, so we have to constantly remind ourselves that this is NOT our home. The world says for us to get all we can get, we deserve to be self-satisfied. The Kingdom says the way to self-satisfaction is to be giving, selfless and self sacrificing by putting the interests of others before ours.
The Mirror Of Easter
Easter is the mirror of our lives and produces an image of investing more in the Kingdom of God than we are in this world. But our nature pulls us away from our destiny to be wholly-holy God’s and that is why God said to resist, to push back against our sinful nature and submit ourselves to Him. We can’t “do” life on our own and do it right, we were created to need Jesus. We can “be” found in Him and through that heart to heart connection, we have the inner spiritual core strength we need to endure and prepare to bring God honor. A necessary wholly-holy alignment is a vital-vertical relationship with God, it is a connection with the Easter Savior, Jesus Christ.
Death Where Is Your Sting?
Jesus did not die for this world, He gave His life for a greater cause, for the Kingdom of God, for our eternity ransom to be paid in full. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, it changed everything at the root of our human destiny. Originally, we were born to die, now we are born to live the in the life power of Jesus, through His righteousness. Death where is thy sting? Death no longer has control of our destiny. Jesus Christ is now the title bearer of our future and hope. A label He bought for us on the cross, a title to a forever life. We are His. Christian.
God will swallow up death forever. The Lord, the Eternal, will wipe away the tears from each and every face and deflect the scorn and shame His people endure from the whole world, for the Eternal determined that it should be so. And in that moment, at that glorious time, people will say, People: This is our God! We put our hope in him. We knew that He would save us! This is our God, the Eternal for whom we waited. Let us rejoice and celebrate in His liberation. Isaiah 25:8-9
Jesus, Our Way-Maker God
Yes, our precious Savior, Jesus made a way for all of us to live forever. Eternity is not exclusive, it is an open door for all who choose the way to it. Jesus is that way and that way began on Easter morning. How cool is that?! We all can choose the way, truth and forever life of Easter. Jesus is our Way-Maker God and it is through Him that we find our way to the real truth about the amazing life He purchased for us. The way made for us is not temporary, like this world offers us. Our Way-Maker God made sure that life does not end here for us, it has no ending, it is a forever life. The way to it is through Jesus Christ, our Savior, The Life-Giver. Jesus is our open door, our Way-Maker to our destiny, our forever life in His Kingdom. Why settle for temporary pleasure when you can choose the forever perfection of our Easter Savior, Jesus Christ?
Sovereignly Led By Faith
Our human nature is bent towards self-ruling and our will wants to do its own thing. Yes that is the natural way of life. We want to be our own sovereign. When we are doing life, we are will-driven people, resisting God’s Sovereignty, it just doesn’t end well. Jesus is the Savior, we are the servants of the Savior. When we are being found in God, submitting to His Will, we are being sovereignly led by faith in our Way-Maker God and life is good for us and great for God’s Kingdom. God’s Providential Care exactly mirrors this in its main purposes that are in play for us. As we lean into God’s Sovereign Sway, our Father God works towards creating good for us that translates into glory for His Kingdom.
What Does Easter Speak To You?
Easter comes on our calendar every year and this season of the year is a very strong reminder of who and Whose we are. Our human nature likes to think we can do anything we want. But truly, we can’t stop ourselves from growing old in these temporary bodies. Who can avoid death? If we must face death one day, isn’t it better to face it with the gain of eternal life? In a twinkling of an eye, from death to life we go. Easter reminds us every single year that we can’t purchase eternal life by anything we do on this earth. We will all die, we can’t escape that, but we can escape the original plan for death, the plan Jesus’s life forever changed. Have you escaped death? Do you live by the power of the resurrected life of Jesus Christ? This is what Easter speaks to us. What does Easter speak to you? What is Easter all about for you? Have you realized the powerful destiny of Easter? May it be so in us and our families, that we know our Resurrected King and experience His resurrection power.
