Embrace Thanksgiving
This is the season for Thanksgiving, so we are more aware of being grateful, but it would be such a great thing for our souls if we would embrace “Giving Thanks” as a way of life, a part of our daily life from day to day. I am thinking if we do this, if we become grateful, thankful people, on a daily basis, embracing thanksgiving as part of our character, we will know God’s peace and that beautiful peace will translate into true joy.
How do we “Embrace Thanksgiving”
Whenever we have a need to know “how” the best way to find out our how is by looking in the encouraging Word of God. Like the scripture below. What do you see in this scripture that gives you the “how” of embracing the characteristic of thanksgiving in your life
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
“WHY” Is It The Will Of God
Why do you think giving thanks in all circumstances is the will of God for us? Hold On… We are going through a wild ride through the Encouraging Word of God and see and know without a doubt the “Why” gratefulness is the Will of God. Listen Up To This 1 Minute Encouragement Video:
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
How To Start Your Day Gratefully
1 Corinthians 15:57 Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
How can we start each day the right way? Hummmm… well how about focused up with faith, hope and joy in my future with God. It is the Will of God for us to be grateful in all things. Why? Because we have a sure future and this gives us a hope that can’t be disturbed by the things of this world. We can know the gratefulness of having a future and hope in Christ Jesus. This is something God would want us to embrace with gratefulness because it will give us hope day to day on this side of heaven. So we start our day gratefully by being thankful for Jesus, our Savior and the future He has provided for us!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 Here’s what Yahweh says to you: “I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope. When you call on me and come to me in prayer, I will listen to your every word . If you reach out to me, you will find me when you search for me with all your heart.
First Step Out… BOW
Why Bow? Gratefulness gives us that beautiful soul exercise of humility and humility is a great heart condition for the power of God to flow out of our lives. This is why it would be great if our first step out into each day should always be humble gratefulness to God. Yes, we should step out into each day with a thankful heart. So my question is: Have you bowed? Have you bowed your heart in thankful and grateful Awe of God? Wouldn’t it be great if your first step out into each day would be down, bowed down in Awe God Gratefulness? Acknowledging Who God Is And Responding With Reverential Awe!
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Bow Your Finite To The Infinite?
Start each day bowed before God, my first step out is bowed in heart and this cultivates in me such Awe of God that is expressed in for my yesterday, today and future He has faithfully brought His way, truth and life into my path. Bowing my heart before Him before I even take a step out into my day. Bowing humbly, my finite being, in reverence, respect and Awe of Who He is as I connect heart To Heart with Him. Our Infinite Lord God helps us to put in perspective the foundation we step out into each day with. Our foundation, our future in Christ is firm! It is good for us to express thankful we are to be in the world another day, but not of the world. We have a different future and hope, and it is in Christ Jesus, and yes, it is a marvelous, steadfast destiny that we are grateful for.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord! Here’s why—he’s better than anyone could ever imagine. Yes, he’s always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends. So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world. He has set us free to be his very own! So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Psalm 107:1-2
Infinite – Finite
Acknowledging in grateful thanksgiving that our God is good and His love is steadfast, it endures forever is creating an Awe-GOD moment of gratefulness. Our GOD, His Love is steadfast, it is Infinite. Awe-GOD! The perspective that comes out of a heart of Thanksgiving is recognizing the difference of value between infinite and finite. It is so good for us to recognize the difference between finite and Infinite right out of the starting gate every morning. When we bow down our flesh before our God in thanksgiving, there is no doubt that we will be able to run a good race of faith from beginning to the end of that day. Why? Because our strength, our power, our compassion, our wisdom, we acknowledge and recognize it does not come from our finite being, it comes from Christ in us.
Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it! Colossians 1:27
Gratefulness Has A Side Effect Called Hope
Hope is a needed thing. In this world there are many hopeless people. Why? They have lost touch with gratitude, their hearts do not know the peace that a thankful heart knows. Hope is definitely a springboard directly from Thanksgiving. The more God grateful we are, the more peaceful we are, the more joyful we are, the more hopeful we are. So we need to cultivate a thankful heart, intentionally so.
Praise Cultivates A Grateful Heart
I love Christian music, I love letting my heart flow in praise to God. Prayer and Praise is a great way to cultivate in us a thankful heart, a soul full of gratitude and a spirit lifted up to God in surrendered praise. This is a great soul atmosphere and truly does lean us into the peace of God.
Psalm 100:1-5 A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
