Family Prayer-9 Understanding

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for. Proverbs 3:5-8

I have a journal that I am keeping for my grandkids. This was my journal entry today:

Grandkids, you are so precious to me and that is why I call your names out to God in prayer. I pray today for you to have the understanding of God in the all of your everything. It is a tough world that we find ourselves growing through, and my heart goes out to you. I pray for you to have the clarity of mind and heart that comes with that vital-vertical relationship with God. I hope you know His heart and His mind, and most importantly how much He loves you.    It is so easy to lean into what we “think we know” through our five senses of what we see, hear, touch, smell and taste, and then further complicate things by what we feel. There is such a better “understanding”. I pray for you, my grand kids, to lean into God’s understanding by acknowledging Him in all of your ways, and yielding to God’s way in all of your life. Love you GrammyMac

Man Made Comfort Zones

Sometimes we get very comfortable in our lives and we form this comfort zone all around us that we just won’t step out of.  I pray for all of us in this family to step outside of our man made comfort zone, the comfortable place of what we “think we know” and instead, get uncomfortable with what we truly don’t know, so much so, it passionately pushes us to know the Mind of God, His thoughts, what is on His heart. When we don’t understand something God is doing in our family life, we need to look to God, ask God for the understanding. Listen Up to this 1 Minute Encouragement Video:

“Eye sight produces conviction and understanding of the physical world. Faith produces conviction and understanding of the invisible order.  Many of us try to navigate our faith using only physical means (my opinion, my  feelings, my “truth”). But faith is living under the conviction that a greater story is being unfolded, one that is largely invisible to me.  Faith is being obedient in the visible world and living as though the invisible (heaven, salvation, eternity, God’s will) is more important, so we acknowledge God and lean into an eternal perspective that stretches our faith.” Pastor Joey Todd

Guard The Hearts Of Our Family

When I think about our family and the faith that we have, I pray it is a faith that is activated by God, by His Word, and His truth and is a strong foundation for our lives. God knows all. I hope and pray we as a family seek God’s understanding first, that we shake off our worldly viewpoint, of seeing, feeling, touching, smelling, tasting and all the opinions we derive from our past experiences, and learn something new from God. This is a Kingdom perspective, and I pray we become a family more led by God’s perspective than our worldly viewpoint so we can all realize the Great God Adventures He has for us.  When we struggle with understanding the life path we are on, I pray we turn away from the worldly viewpoint and turn to God’s Kingdom perspective, asking Him for the understanding we seek. I hope for us to be a family who connects with God, heart to heart and has a deep understanding of His way, truth and life. Guard the hearts of our family Lord Jesus.

Behold, all you [enemies of your own selves] who attempt to kindle your own fires [and work out your own plans of salvation], who surround and gird yourselves with momentary sparks, darts, and firebrands that you set aflame!–walk by the light of your self-made fire and of the sparks that you have kindled [for yourself, if you will]! But this shall you have from My hand: you shall lie down in grief and in torment. [Isa. 66:24.] Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and deep trouble and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God.
Isaiah 50:10-11

God’s Ways Are Not Our Ways

Our human understanding is not enough. It is full of the deceptors of assumptions, speculations, rationalizations, feelings and opinions not based on the reality of truth, but on what we “think we know”! God knows everything, from knowledge, to experience, to feelings, to motives, to secreted things. God knows it all. If you need understanding, He is the one to go to first. Our ways are not His ways, that is for sure and there are times we can’t even begin to wrap our mind around the things that are occurring in our corrupted cultures. There is just no understanding of it all. Why would God do that? Why would God allow that? There is no understanding of it. When we run off doing our own thing because we can’t understand what God is doing, this is when human mess happens.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

God’s Understanding Is A Beautiful Thing

Protect our family Lord God from what we see, feel, hear which can be interpreted so wrong when all we have is a worldly viewpoint.  Give our family Your understanding Lord God, an  understanding which is so needed,  which we should seek after first. God’s understanding in play in our family life is a beautiful thing, it brings us the gift of faith activated by Himself. Help us Holy Spirit, our family, to begin to acknowledge that God is in all of our ways, that He is doing something in the unseen and we don’t have to know the endgame because we know God is faithful to us, faithful to finish what He started in us.

God Is For Our Family

Thank you God that You are for our family.  Our God is an amazing finisher, Who finishes well. Our God is a winner! This is why we can trust God to lead our family and navigate us through times such as these, from moment to choice. Faith says we don’t need to know the outcome, we can trust step by step because God is good and He hasn’t changed. Increase the faith of our family Lord as we step out into the cultural chaos and help us to remember that You will finish well for our family. God finishes well. AweGOD! We have seen His faithfulness and experienced how trustworthy He is, year after year. Here is some heavenly hindsight from a 1 Minute Encouragement Video

Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say. Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:20-23
