What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. 2 His pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of “I Am,” meditating day and night in the true revelation of light. He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous. Psalm 1:1-2 TPT
“There is nothing that you will find wrong with God, nothing in Him that could even remotely appear to be evil hiding. The more you get to know Him the more you realize how beautiful and holy He is. James 1 FootNote Passion Translation
Seeded Securely
Firmly planted in faithfulness to God and others, is a way of life that is uninterrupted by the distractions of our worldly viewpoint, and is a constant focus on a Kingdom Perspective. The culture of God’s Kingdom is pure goodness, untainted belief and a purity of righteousness like never before seen. God simply-significantly says to us to be holy because He is faithfully holy. When our hearts connect to God, we desire to mirror God’s faithfulness, we hope to have a firm faith that is unwavering in belief, hope and trust.
A Focus Struggle
It is the scuffle for our focus between the darkness of this world and the light of the Kingdom that makes our faithfulness to God shaky. We hope to have a firm faithfulness and this comes as we open our hearts wide to God, heart to heart. We connect to His heart; we hear His heart. It is a good day when we stay in a constant conversation with God and we listen up and receive from God, truth and love, two things of God’s character and way, which the enemy can’t destabilize. Truth and love is a firm faith foundation. It is one we hope for, it is one we long to grow into, it is the Image of God, we desire to faithfully mirror.
“God expects us to form good habits. The man who wants to prosper and succeed needs to habitually ponder and mediate on God’s Word by day and by night. Establishing the habits necessary for success takes discipline and consistency, especially in our thought life. Set your mind and keep it set in the new direction because you don’t want to remain in bondage to the old and miss the good new thing God has for you.” Joyce Meyer
Faithful Thinking
Our thought life matters. We can’t let assumptions run wild in our mind. This creates an atmosphere of doubt in our soul. Faithfulness to God is an up and down and very crooked path when we let our minds be navigated by anything other than God thoughts. We need to straighten it out and change it up, from up and down to a very level way of living. Staying in the Word is a steadying power like no other. The Bible is a faith builder, it is a living strength for our faith. When our faith is strong, our faithfulness to God and others takes that same firm way of supernatural strength, giving us emotions that are unshakable, steady and firm in faith. When we serve no power higher than ourselves, we fail in our faithfulness. We do not have what it takes to persevere without God, we were created for relationship with God.
And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace. Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. When you are half-hearted and wavering, it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition? James 1 The Passion Translation
Emotions Bobbing All Over?
Speculation, presupposition, assumption, all these untruths open the door of our soul to doubt, fear and anxiety. We begin worrying about something we have presumed might happen. We step out of the reality of truth into the enemy’s fantasy land and get our emotions all worked up over a speculation, which has not even happened and may not ever be a reality of truth. This is a fake reality, it sets us up to be upset and when our emotions are tied to an anchor that doesn’t hold, we are bobbing all over the place and our faithfulness is nothing like the firm, steady, belief and trust we have when we are anchored to God. Listen up to God, wait on God and be anchored to the truth you know, to the promises of God which feed your faith and stabilize your soul. God is writing your story, He has the pen, wait on it, because the good He has planned and the way He knows, will soon become your reality of truth, a firm foundation for your faithfulness.
James 1: 19-22 My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose. So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word, which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us. Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! The Passion Translation
“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” C.S. Lewis
The Way To Firm
Pain suddenly takes over your worldly viewpoint. This is not the right time to run away from God. Open your life wide to God and connect heart to heart. Talk it up with God, keep your conversation open and honest. During times of sudden trials, intense pain or situations beyond our ability to endure, our faith is tested. In times such as these, we don’t need to turn away from God, we need to suffer towards God. God is not surprised by our sudden trial that is disrupting the flow of our faith with doubt and unbelief. God is huge in our situation, and He is in the midst of it. At the center of our struggle, God is speaking, teaching and preparing us to be faithful. Success is faithfulness, a firm faith is a win. His ability to incredibly know all, makes Him the perfect one to handle all our questions, pain and erratically-reactive human emotions.
Find Your Firm Footing
Got pain? Fear? Anxiety? Stop, look to God, fully face God and talk to Him, share your pain, doubts and fears. God can handle them, He understands. Lean into His Sovereign sway, listen up and believe God, take Him at His Word, instead of drowning in a pit of self-pity. You were not created to drown in a sea of emotions, you were created to rise above them and find a firm foundation of faith to stand upon. Belief, trust, hope in God, this is the way to a firm faithfulness, steady in all of its ways. A firm faith believes in God and believes God, not reacting to a worldly viewpoint, but responding to a Kingdom perspective. There is always two pillars to a firm foundation. Belief and Believing. Anchored to God, we have both of these working in our lives.
Be Firm And Steady
Keep God at the center of Your life. In every situation, God’s purposes are in play for our good and His glory. God knows. We don’t have to know everything at once, be satisfied to know just enough for this day at hand. The challenges that seem so overwhelming to us, do not thwart God’s passion for us. He is faithful and He knows that His purposes flowing in the challenge are greater than the challenge itself. He knows as we dig our life roots deeply in Him, our faith will be firm and our faithfulness to Him and others will be steady.
Isaiah 43:1-5 Now, this is what Yahweh says: “Listen, Jacob, to the One who created you, Israel, to the one who shaped who you are. Do not fear, for I, your Kinsman-Redeemer, will rescue you. I have called you by name, and you are mine. When you pass through the deep, stormy sea, you can count on me to be there with you. When you pass through raging rivers, You will not drown. When you walk through persecution like fiery flames, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you, for I am your Savior, Yahweh, your mighty God, the Holy One of Israel! I give up Egypt as the price to set you free, Cush and Seba in exchange to bring you back. Since you are cherished and precious in my eyes, and because I love you dearly and want to honor you, I willingly give up nations in exchange for you— a man to save your life. I am with you now, even close to you, so never yield to fear. The Passion Translation
Faithfulness Rests On A Kingdom Foundation
Just as God has written our life story, He has written eternity in our hearts that points us to a Kingdom perspective. He even went further to satisfy our human condition; He wrote His Word upon our hearts. We have everything we need to have a firm faithfulness that never waivers, but stays wholly-holy aligned with God’s strength. We were born for relationship with God, created in His Image to need God and need each other. There is nothing God can’t grow us through, it may be hard, but it is not too hard for God. Our foundation that remains firm is founded upon God, His Word and His Life. Christ in us equals a firm faithfulness, anchored to a Kingdom perspective, purpose and promise. Firm Faith. Be so.
