God Looked long and hard, but there wasn’t a single person who tried to put a stop to the injustice and lies. So God took action. His own strong arm reached out and brought salvation. His own righteousness—good and pure—sustained Him. But God’s equipment was that of no ordinary warrior: He strapped on righteousness as His breastplate, And put on the helmet of salvation. Wrapped in vengeance for clothing and passion as a cloak, God prepared for war. Finally, God determined they must get what they’ve earned: fury to those who oppose Him, vengeance against those who are against Him. To the ends of the known world, God will go to render justice. This is how people from east to west will come to respect the name and honor the glory of the Eternal. For He will come on like a torrential flood driven by the Eternal’s winds. Eternal One: The Redeemer will come to make Zion right again, to rescue those of Jacob’s holy line who turn their backs on wrongdoing. This is what the Eternal One declares. Eternal One: This is My covenant promise to them: My Spirit, which rests on and moves in you, and My words, which I have placed within you, will continue to be spoken among you and move you to action. And not only you, but so it will be for your children and their children too. And so on through the generations for all time. Isaiah 59:16-19 The Voice
My Miraculous Musings:
God is continuously reaching for us, His eyes are roaming all over the earth, at all times, He has us in His vision, He knows us like nobody can or will ever know us. God Looks – God Looked! Yes, we are cowards at times, we don’t want to stand for truth, we don’t want to confront lies, we don’t want to because it disrupts our comfort zones. Really, we are way too tied to this life, this earth and we need less of it, we need more of God’s Kingdom to permeate our thinking, desires and plans. We can and we will be sustained by the righteousness, the purity of holiness that is powerful and nourishing to the courage of our soul. God Looked – God Reached – God Sustained!
Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point. Author: C.S. Lewis
My Miraculous Musings: I guess the questions I am musing on after mulling this scripture around in my mind are these: How do I deal with lies? Do I let them hang around without exposing the deceit? Do I tolerate lies or am I a person who trumps them with God’s Truth and Love? How many lies become the standard in my life? White Lies? Rationalizations? Assumptions? Presumptions? Do I let them have free reign in my thought life and my life? Do I truly stand for justice and truth in that wholly-holy Kingdom of God kind of way? Is my life lukewarm? Am I partial as a person who does not confront lies, but conveniently and tolerantly lives with them? Do injustices and lies mess with my comfort zone or am I okay with them hanging right outside the door and as long as they don’t mess with me, I don’t confront them? Is this me? Does this verse reflect me? I keep thinking of the beginning of the verse: God Looked! What does He see when He looks at me? God Looked – God Exposed – God Transformed!
My Miraculous Musings: The coolest thing I glean from these verses and yes, I think this is just way too cool is this: There is NOTHING ordinary about our God. His righteousness has never and will never know impurity and that is an incredible breastplate. As I mull this over in my mind, it sinks deeply in my soul, this amazing truth, this incredible realization, that I have that breastplate, I have Jesus’ righteousness! God Looked, He Saw I Needed Jesus! He Pursued Me And I Accepted Jesus. Now, I can put on this breastplate every day to protect and guard my heart from the impurities of my world. God Looked – God Found – God Changed!
“As we wear Christ’s breastplate of righteousness, we begin to develop a purity of heart that translates into actions. Wearing this breastplate creates a lifestyle of putting into practice what we believe in our hearts. As our lives become conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29), our choices become more righteous, and these godly choices also protect us from further temptation and deception (Proverbs 8:20; Psalm 23:3).” Copyright 2002-2015 Got Questions Ministries – All Rights Reserved. www.gotquestions.org
My Miraculous Musings: The justice of God is an incredible thing. I am thinking we don’t even know the half of it! One thing I do realize from reading these verses is that nothing can stop God’s Justice, it is a sure thing, and God is very committed to bringing it to pass. Justice will happen in everything we have experienced, we can be assured that justice, God’s Justice will eventually prevail if not on this side of heaven, for sure, without a doubt we all will face Him, His justice will happen. God, Our Way-Maker Made A Way For Justice To Prevail. God Looked – God Justified – God Saved!
“When God punishes the wicked, it is a just thing to do, because it is consistent with the wicked man’s deserts. But when God pardons a wicked man, it is a just thing to do as well, because it is consistent with God’s nature. God is always the same. God acts according to His attributes of love, justice and mercy. Always, Always, Always, God Acts Like God.” Author: A.W.Tozer
My Miraculous Musings: It is incredible that so many, many, many years ago these precious Words of God were spoken, and still that God’s Word would be with us, that it would hold a special anointing, that even time does not dull it or corrupt it. How cool is that!? God Looked – God Spoke – It Still Stands. His Word has a staying power from year to year to year and it is able to move us to action, it is that powerful, that transforming! AWE-GOD! Not much in this world can move us to action like God’s Word, it cuts deeply into our soul and motivates powerfully, with the ability to even change our mind sets. I truly believe no one can change a person’s heart, but the Living Word of God can! I also think of how amazing the Living Word of God is at taking the hidden things in the dark places of our heart and exposing them to His Light. Only God could do that! Only God’s Living Word could even know what we had hidden from everyone else. We can’t hide anything from the powerful force of God’s revealing Word. God Looked – God Revealed – God Changed.
The word of God, you see, is alive and moving; sharper than a double-edged sword; piercing the divide between soul and spirit, joints and marrow; able to judge the thoughts and will of the heart. No creature can hide from God: God sees all. Everyone and everything is exposed, opened for His inspection; and He’s the One we will have to explain ourselves to. Hebrews 4: 12-13 The Voice
My Miraculous Musings: I love the symbolism of the flood, it showed me so much about God. God doesn’t just come into our lives, He comes in like a torrential flood, washing away the old and bringing forth the new. He raises up a standard of truth in our soul, truth that stands the tests of time, of all trial and testing. Once we have experienced God’s truth, there is no turning our back to it, we must continue to fully face this incredible Truth and let it have its way in us, let it transform us till there is no turning back. Powerful, powerful God we serve, incredible TRUTH, He has spoken and continues to speak into our lives. He will finish what He started in us. God Looked – God Spoke – God Finished!
“God Will Finish What He Started! When you were first saved, God began a new work in you; but you were certainly not a finished product. You had a lot of growing to do. God started something in you, and He is the one that will complete it. The Bible says in Philippians 1:6, “… He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it …” He wants to build character into your life, and according to Romans 5:3-5, there are four ways He does this: “… we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Author: Adrian Rogers
My Miraculous Musings: I definitely gleaned from this passage the importance of a vital-vertical relationship with Jesus, Who is The Living Word and with The Holy Spirit, Who is our teacher. I realized more than anything as I mused over this scripture, that God has written His Word in our hearts, and His Word is powerful in the way that it can move us to action according to His Will. God Looked and His Word reached deeper into our soul than anything on this earth can ever even begin to do. His Holy Spirit moves in us, teaching us and leaning us into God’s Sovereign Sway. God has given us everything we need to live successfully here and to “grow through” into our Promised Forever as conquerors, we just need to submit ourselves, Wholly-Holy to HIM. He is the Only WAY, the real TRUTH, the Abundant Life and in conclusion, He Is Our Living Word that transforms us, shaping us and finishing the design He had planned for us since the day He breathed life into our soul. God Looked – God Breathed – God Shaped!
My Miraculous Musings: In conclusion of my miraculous musings of Isaiah 59:16-19, I am thinking that what I love about God is how His Promises pay forward from generation to generation, the TRUTH stands the test of time and this is an unshakeable hope for me and my family that is and is to come! I am so thankful for His Transforming, Loving, Living Word. God Looked – God Knows – God Cares!
