Groomsman Week Two Day 7

The Groomsman’s Journal

“He who has the bride is the Bridegroom; but the groomsman who stands by and listens to Him rejoices greatly and heartily on account of the Bridegroom’s Voice. This then is my pleasure and joy, and it is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:29-30 Amplified Bible

Week Two: The Bridegroom Speaks About Questions

The Bride asks: “Jesus, My heart is cluttered with unanswered questions. They cast a shadow of doubt, blanketing my mind with anxiety and layering my soul with fears. I wait, anticipating Your answers and when You don’t respond to me right away, my mind goes crazy with doubts. I don’t understand Your
ways. I wonder why? Why, my Lord?” What has the Bridegroom spoken to you concerning His response to your inquisitive heart? What has He said to you about the questions you have when it comes to His plans for your life season?

WEEK TWO: DAY SEVEN

My Questions

Our First Call

Jesus I pray my 1st call will be to You, today and every day. Lord, subdue my selfish nature, quiet my questions and help me to pursue Your Will. Increase in me. Let my life be less about me and my wants and more about a total surrender to You, nothing less, this is what I hope huge for.

Jesus Our Solution

Father God, I pray my human condition will always be under Your control. To know You within the parameters of my questioning heart, I must rise above my doubts, fears, fleshly attitudes and fully face You, Lord God. I must let go of my questions and trust the solution to You. So be it! Jesus, You are our Solution, the common denominator to every single life trial and problem we have.

The Bridegroom’s Word, Written on your Heart

What has the Bridegroom spoken to you concerning His response to your inquisitive heart? What has He said to you about the questions you have when it comes to His plans for your life season?

Week Two: The Bridegroom Speaks About Questions

Day Seven My Groomsman Journal

Revelation 21:1-7

Rev 21:1 THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. [Isa. 65:17; 66:22.] 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband; 3 Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. [Ezek. 37:27.] 4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away. [Isa. 25:8; 35:10.] 5 And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine). [Isa. 43:19.] 6 And He [further] said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life. [Isa. 55:1.] 7 He who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son. Amplified Bible

“FleshOut” My Questions – My Attitudes

  • A beautiful bride, adorned in trust does not question her husband’s motives
  • Questions we have will pass away and God will make all things new
  • Questioning God is not victorious living. I am a daughter of God, my questions are irrelevant in light of this truth.
  • In the light of the truth of God’s Kingdom, my questioning God is just my unbelief making a fool out of me.

“TruthIN” God’s Precepts

  • God abides with us now and He has provided a great future for us. This is all we truly need to know. All other questions are obsolete.
  • We have a future where there will be no more questions
  • God’s word is accurate, incorruptible and trustworthy, we should have no questions about it or its direction for our lives.
  • When we are God’s as He is ours, there are no questions
  • There will be no question or doubt about us, we will be the victors of God’s inheritance and He will be our God and we will be wholly-holy His.

“TruthIN” Application To My Life

Unanswered Questions

There are always unanswered questions and to counteract this, there is always the truth of our future which trumps all unanswered questions with the patience to wait.

Beginning And End

Oh the questions and Oh the tears that have accompanied them. Jesus You will wipe away my tears and my questions will remain no longer. The beginning and the end, You are always there Lord. And in between there is no place for questions only promise and hope.

Irrelevant Questions

We have a bad habit of asking questions for things that are way past or way down the road. God is in the now. His Kingdom purposes are in play in our now. Our questions about our past and future are not relevant to our now. So much changes from our past to our now or from our now to our future that our questions about them are not relevant in our now. My questions are not relevant in God’s Kingdom, because all things are new and what I am questioning God about may be a worldly issue that does not even concern Kingdom principals.

Questions Will Not Remain

None of my questions will remain questions, in the end all will be revealed, therefore my priority should not be on them, but on the Kingdom of God. I should seek the kingdom more than I seek answers for my questions.

Matthew 25:11-13

Matthew 25:1-13 THEN THE kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish (thoughtless, without forethought) and five were wise (sensible, intelligent, and prudent). 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them; 4 But the wise took flasks of oil along with them [also] with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom lingered and was slow in coming, they all began nodding their heads, and they fell asleep. 6 But at midnight there was a shout, Behold, the bridegroom! Go out to meet him! 7 Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. 9 But the wise replied, There will not be enough for us and for you; go instead to the dealers and buy for yourselves.10 But while they were going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. 11 Later the other virgins also came and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] to us! 12 But He replied, I solemnly declare to you, I do not know you [I am not acquainted with you]. 13 Watch therefore [give strict attention and be cautious and active], for you know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man will come, High Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. Amplified Bible

“FleshOut” My Questions – My Attitudes

  • We can be so focused on ourselves and our foolish questioning that we miss Jesus totally and what He is doing completely.
  • We can get so busy with all the whirlwinds the enemy spins in our mind, that we are missing out on the real things that are happening, the God Things.

“TruthIN” God’s Precepts

  • Our faith needs to stay active and even lean into the sway of being cautiously aware
  • We have no idea what God’s plans are. We need to stay focused on Jesus, because He is the plan maker and the way maker.
  • Be cautious. Be ready for each day, by guarding my heart with the truth and promises of God.
  • It is imperative that we stay awake to God especially in times such as these, we need to stay wholly-holy aligned. Vital-Vertical Relationship.

“TruthIN” Application To My Life

Followship Interference

If we are constantly questioning God it will interfere with our followship. Our questions can be more of a self-focus than a God focus and we can easily miss what God is saying to us. We get really off course with God, totally out of wholly-holy alignment with Him when we let our will buck up and blind us to the way God is wanting us to go. When our will is in control, it is like a high wall that blocks our view of God and we can’t follow Him.

The Enemies Dread Tactic

Know God. My relationship with God should be my number one priority. I should not be chasing the tornados the enemy spins and reacting with all kinds of soul noisy and foolish questions. I should be still before my God in AWE with my ears listening for His voice. This is how my day should start. Every day I should anticipate the adventure I will be on with God and not start my day dreading the things my enemy will throw in my path. Dread definitely moves me out of position, so I can’t directly see where God is going and it is very hard to follow after Him when I am straining my will.

Hebrews 6:13-20

Remember when God made His promise to Abraham? He had to swear by Himself, there being no one greater: 14 “Surely I will bless you and multiply your descendants.” 15 And after Abraham had endured with patience, he obtained the promise he had hoped for. 16 When swearing an oath to confirm what they are saying, humans swear by someone greater than themselves and so bring their arguments to an end. 17 In the same way, when God wanted to confirm His promise as true and unchangeable, He swore an oath to the heirs of that promise. 18 So God has given us two unchanging things: His promise and His oath. These prove that it is impossible for God to lie. As a result, we who come to God for refuge might be encouraged to seize that hope that is set before us. 19 That hope is real and true, an anchor to steady our restless souls, a hope that leads us back behind the curtain to where God is (as the high priests did in the days when reconciliation flowed from sacrifices in the temple) 20 and back into the place where Jesus, who went ahead on our behalf, has entered since He has become a High Priest.

“FleshOut” My Questions – My Attitudes

  • My AWE-GOD is unchangeable in His faithfulness, trustworthiness and beyond any doubtful questions is where my relationship with Him should be.
  • Hoping in God will anchor my soul in trust.
  • When I find myself questioning God with a doubtful attitude, I need to increase my hope in Him, let go of my personal expectations and anchor my soul to His Powerful Holy Spirit.

“TruthIN” God’s Precepts

  • What is so unchangeable about my AWE-GOD? His faithfulness to Goodness. He is Infinitely Good!
  • God’s Goodness Is A Great Anchor For Our Soul In Times Like These! How Faithful He Is! How Good He Is To Us!
  • Hope Huge In God! Pray for His strength of faith to fill your heart, dispel all questions and believe completely in Him! AWE-GOD!
  • We have the strong Word of God, His Oath spoken in purposeful Kingdom promises backed up with His Infinite Power! AWE-GOD! We are so blessed!

“TruthIN” Application To My Life:

God’s Promises~Perfect Peace Foundation

God’s Promises are the sure foundation of my hope and the stability of my inner peace. When I am trusting God without a questioning attitude, everything about God’s Truth is sure, there is no insecurity in it, therefore it is the perfect foundation for peace.

Word Of God~Anchor

God’s Promises do not waiver with cultural tides like our loyalties sometimes do. The Word of God is an anchor for my soul peace, unchanging in character, steady in hope. A questioning heart unsteadies me because my focus is taken off the Word of God in pursuit of a solution that God is not ready to give me.

Followship~Jesus

Jesus is the forerunner of my soul-peace and if I stay in followship of Him, I can walk in peace today and every day. If I am constantly leading out with questions and insecurities, I will be stumbling and falling into anxiety, fear and doubt. Jesus goes before me, He anchors my soul at the perfect time of the storm, so I am not tossed to and fro, I am kept by the Promises of His Word and they anchor me. God’s anchor holds and He is faithful to shelter us, keep us steady and right side up in every angry sea of life.
