Tenacious Word Life: Awe Inspiring Tidbits
The Wonderful News 1 This is the beginning of the wonderful news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. 2 It starts with Isaiah the prophet, who wrote: Listen! I am sending my messenger ahead of you and he will prepare your way! 3 He is a thunderous voice of one who shouts in the wilderness: “Prepare your hearts for the coming of the Lord Yahweh, and clear a straight path inside your hearts for him!” Mark 1 The Passion Translation
“John was the son of Zechariah, a priest. As the son of a priest, John was qualified to serve in the temple but chose instead the lonely wilderness to begin his ministry of calling a nation to repentance and preparing the way for the Lord Jesus.” Commentary TPT Mark 1:4
My Thoughts:
John gave up his inherited rights, left behind his title and all it entitled him too, to give his life for the ministry of his calling. Sometimes I hope so hard to have something different, to not be so lonely, but in the isolation, in the wilderness of loneliness, this is where my ministry, my calling of exhortation thrives. It is a choice of what I want, comfort in this world, or what God wants, His message proclaimed. The hardest choices are the ones where we have to say no to our flesh, and yes to Jesus, His way is not always the way of soul comfort. God has that incredible way of fleshing out the human condition, purposefully so.
…Continued Musing
My other thought was how very interesting how they publicly confessed their sins. I can see how that might be a very humbling thing, it truly does crush pride. I am thinking that without the road block of pride, your heart is open for Jesus, Who can and will completely cancel sin. People yearn to be guiltless. We have guilt. We have real guilt, we have false guilt, it weighs on us. It seemed as if people were anxious to be forgiven of their sins, they flocked to John The Baptist to repent and be baptized, it was what they yearned for to be free of sin and guilt. Give God total access to your soul, your conscious and your mind and let Him cleanse, restore and reconcile your life to wholly-holy truth. Living without the intimidation of the enemy is living in the light of God’s truth. There is no guilt, no condemnation, no intimidation in the Light of God’s Truth. The enemy can not extinguish the Light of God’s Truth and that is real intimidation, God’s way.
“Locusts (grasshoppers) are an emblem of intimidation that will keep believers from taking their inheritance by faith. Israel thought themselves to be like grasshoppers in their own eyes because of the intimidation of the fierce inhabitants of the land. John the Baptizer arrives on the scene and makes locusts his food, eating up that symbol of intimidation (devouring the devourer). And he drank honey, which is a biblical metaphor of the revelation of God’s Word that is sweeter than honey (Ps. 19:7-10). John’s ministry was a prophetic statement from God that a new day had come, a day of leaving dead formalism and embracing new life in Jesus without intimidation.” TPT Commentary Mark 1
My Thoughts:
How very enlightening it is that God used the natural things of their time and culture to speak what was true, to show Himself as not being intimidated, as being the supreme authority over the intimidator. When we embrace Jesus, His power and authority, we shed the fear of intimidation from our enemy. He can no longer make us feel like a grasshopper. We are the children of God.
My Response:
Lord God, I am so grateful that on the day I received You into my heart, believing You were the Son of God and believing Your Word of Truth, You shut the voices of intimidation off and since that day, I have been free of fear. I am no longer intimidated. I pray, we as people with a human condition, do not bow to intimidation from our enemy, but instead, we cling to You, we know You, we submit to Your Power, the Highest Authority, the Sovereign Will of God. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Stop the devourer, Lord Jesus, who is corrupting the authority of man, return mankind back to a wholly-holy relationship with You, walking in Your truth, raising up a standard of Your Righteousness. Jesus. Let it be so. AMEN.
Tenacious Word Life: Awe Inspiring Tidbits
Mark 1:32 Later in the day, just after the Sabbath ended at sunset, the people kept bringing to Jesus all who were sick and tormented by demons, 33 until the whole village was crowded around the house. 34 Jesus cured many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. But he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew who he really was. The Passion Translation
My Thoughts:
Interesting how Jesus would not permit the demons to speak. This really invoked my Awe. He silenced them, they did not get to speak into our lives. Jesus had the final say-so and had control over the timing of all truth revealed, purposefully so. He was even in charge of the demons, they could not speak without His permission. Permission NOT granted. I love that. Jesus silences the disruptive say-so of evil with the reality of the truth of God’s Sovereignty over all revelation. Every bit of cultural say-so is under his command and works with His purposes in play, making timing of all we get to know, discern and understand, His perfect disclosure.
My Response:
Awe-GOD I reverence Your Authority, I cling to it, I lean into it’s Sovereign Sway, because I know it is the Highest Authority, and it is absolutely incorruptible. Jesus, I pray for our world today, silence the demons, speak what is true in the hearts of people. In this season of our world we experience the corruption of people who know no power higher than self. Holy Spirit, we pray You would silence the evil voices which come out of a corrupted authority.
…SpoonFed
Lord God, raise up Your Voice of truth in the midst of the many voices of evil we are saturated with, as the mediatic frenzy of our times is on full tilt with false narrative, speculation, theory, assumption and nothing that resembles truth. Jesus, silence evil demons, and raise up a standard of righteousness in the hearts and minds of people who are walking in the fake reality of spoon-fed false narratives, by the enemy of our soul. Release people from the hold of deception and position them in the light of Your Truth.
…Dark Illusions
Silence the demons Holy Spirit of God, by Your Power, by Your Might. Spirit of Truth, speak what is true in our nations and shatter the dark illusions of secreted deception, bringing everything to the light of Your Truth. Reveal the sinister corruption of authority and thwart the corruption coup of power that has run amuck and been weaponized against the innocent. Father God by Your Highest Authority, raise up a standard of Truth so high, so bright, that no false narrative can stand up next to it. Crush the rebellious power of evil deception with Your heel, Lord Jesus. Let There Be The Light Of Truth, May It Reign In Our Nations Once Again.
Jesus May It be so. Speak what it is true into the heart and core of our nation, person to person, let the truth ignite this nation as a candle in the darkness.
