“We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in You.” Psalm 33:20
Jesus, even at the mention of His name, peace floods our soul. I hope for us to be joyful, to know constant, consistent joy. Joy, that can’t be tampered with by the enemy of our soul and all his shenanigans. We human beings pursue happiness, but in order for us to be happy, it is human conditioned by our circumstances being exactly how we planned, wanted and expected. Happiness is not joy, joy comes from being what I call, wholly-holy aligned in heart with Jesus Christ! What a sweet thing it is, making it personal with Jesus, not religious duty, not cold hearted tradition, but genuine vital-vertical relationship with God.
You may only be able to see the grim surroundings of hopelessness and disappointment, but God wants to give you fresh vision. The greatest restraint to breakthrough is not focusing on the difficulty but on the One who is with you in the midst of it. Remind yourself what he’s promised. Slam the door on impatience and frustration. Stop listening to the lies of the enemy. God will come through, so start rejoicing and sing his praise in advance! Brian Simmons
There is no greater, or more powerful joy than that found in our vital-vertical relationship with Jesus, and the most awesome miracle is that nothing horizontal can mess with it. No circumstance, no uncomfortable life situations, and no person or thing can disrupt the joy of Jesus in us, Jesus, our hope of glory, our WayMaker to our future! Listen up to this 1 Minute Encouragement Video on Joy and be blessed by God. Enjoy!
Mark 2:2-4 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
In the video above, I am in Spain, standing on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, with joy rising up in my soul. Yet, when I was in France, lost and in an impossible situation, my inner joy was a strength within me that kept me focused on Jesus, and that connection kept me able to be directed by His Holy Spirit when things were definitely not going my way. Even though the enemy tempted me to be fearful and anxious, there was Jesus, with me, and I had His joy, His strength. Ever been in a tough situation and can say you have experienced that same thing? He never leaves us, we stay connected to a constant joy and inner strength.
Jesus knew His Father’s love would sustain Him in His lonely season of suffering. Being blessed as beloved at His baptism remained His real identity. Jesus lived out of being loved by His heavenly Father, by waiting in hope and rejoicing in trust. Boyd Bailey
Joy, remains. Happiness is fleeting and is only present when we are in a situation that we personally like, but as soon as things shake up our comfort zone, happiness is vanquished like a morning fog hit by the heat of the overcoming sunshine. Joy, remains.
