Joy – Change It Up

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that. At that time, you will call out for Me, and I will hear. You will pray, and I will listen.” Jeremiah 29:11-12 The Voice

One common joy we will share: “mine to be forever with Him, and His that I am there.” Author~A.W.Tozer

Short Sighted? Change It Up!

We short sight ourselves when our joy is set only in this world. It is time to look further than this world and to let our joy rise up higher than this world. God’s goodness has an infinite reach. Of course we experience His goodness first hand here on earth and yes, our joy is full as we stay in a vital-vertical, heart to heart relationship with God, yet there is more, abundantly so much more. Our finite viewpoint needs to stretch itself out infinitely so. We need to live beyond this time, beyond this place and we do that by letting our hope come alive in us. How far does your hope stretch? This is the measure of your joy. Let us know true joy by anchoring our souls in the Kingdom of God, let us know exceeding joy on earth as it is in heaven.

Happiness is caused by things that happen around me, and circumstances will mar it; but joy flows right on through trouble; joy flows on through the dark; joy flows in the night as well as in the day; joy flows all through persecution and opposition.
Author: D.L. Moody

Hope Set In This World? Change It Up!

If our hope is set only in this world, we will experience joy, but we will not know the unshakeable joy that is rooted in the kingdom. God’s kingdom is not unsettled, changed or effected by the things of this world. Our culture is constantly in flux according to the popular and political tides of our generation. It is like a roller coaster ride where the bottom drops out and leaves our stomach at the top. Joy fluctuates with our temporary lives here, but when it is anchored in the Kingdom, joy remains steadfast and it is not determined by our worldly circumstances, but our kingdom in heritance. Let us know it, embrace it, our future and hope, the fullness of our joy in Jesus.

Do you want comfort? Nothing can give it so much as the thought of His coming. There may be sorrow in the night, but joy enough–fullness of joy–in that morning when we shall see Him as He is: fullness of joy in being like Him and with Him for evermore. Author~G.V. Wigram

Stolen Joy? Change It Up!

The enemy wants to steal our joy and is constantly working, divisively toward this evil endgame. But when our joy is set in our future and hope, there is no safer place. The enemy does not have a reach that far, Jesus has bruised the heel of the enemy and he can’t raise up or reach any higher than this world. When our roots are planted in the kingdom of God, the enemy has no access to steal our joy. Jesus has made a way for us to live out of the joy of His endgame.

A changeable God would be a terror to the righteous, they would have no sure anchorage, and amid a changing world they would be driven to and fro in perpetual fear of shipwreck. …Our heart leaps for joy as we bow before One who has never broken His word or changed His purpose. Author ~ Charles Spurgeon
