The Eternal is my light amidst my darkness and my rescue in times of trouble. So whom shall I fear? He surrounds me with a fortress of protection. So nothing should cause me alarm. Psalm 27:1 The Voice
My heart goes out to people who sit in the darkness of hopelessness, trapped by despair. I can’t fix them, as much as I would want too, I can’t. But I know the LIGHT, WHO can shatter their darkness, I know this hope, this great and mighty Savior, Jesus Christ, and I pray to Him and I look to HIM to supply the healing light of hope and faith that they need.
I don’t think we really get it, just how much our lives, connected to Jesus, can affect those who are sitting in a dark, hopeless life season. We are God’s LIGHT, powerful, powerful transforming light. Our vital-vertical relationship with Jesus enlightens our soul and from the inside out we glow God’s glory.
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 New Living Translation
People who are charting their course through the stormy seas of this fallen world, they just want to navigate safely through all the rocks and get to the shores of home in one piece. Our lives, in Christ, can be a beam of LIGHT that shatters the darkness of hopelessness, so they can see their way safely to God’s Kingdom Shores.
The more passionate our vital-vertical relationship is with God, the less of us and the more of HIM, will determine how far our light can reach and how long it can burn. When we kindle our own fires and walk by the light of them, they will flame out. But the passion of God in us is a light that stays forever kindled with a fire of compassion that has the farthest most enduring reach.
Oh, how we need Jesus. I pray we begin to know deep inside that we can’t just “do life”, we have to be found in Him, being a reflection of His Glory Glow. He is the Light of the world and He is the only ONE, in that special way of HIS that can kindle a fire in our hearts that is a reflective glory glow of His eternal light and life aflame in our hearts. What we “do” on our own does not have an eternal edge to it, it might be good for the moment, but it won’t last. Being found in Jesus, our lives make an eternal mark on our life path that glows the way to Him and it never flames out, leaving a living legacy of His Light for the next generation.
Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment. Isaiah 50:10-12 The Voice
I pray for each of us today that we will kindle the passion in our soul through our vital-vertical relationship with Jesus. I pray will be salt and light today, be truth bearers and light sharers, who know that the only way to life, truth and strength, that completely covers the darkness of our human condition with a strong, enduring light, is found in Jesus Christ.
“You might never know how much the light you carry means to someone walking in darkness. Are you ready to rise up and carry your light to those who are suffering? Are you willing to turn up the intensity and let your life for Christ make a difference? The degree to which we allow the light of Christ to transform our own lives determines how far our light shines in a dark world.”

Jesus Is:
Jesus: I am the light that shines through the cosmos; if you walk with Me, you will thrive in the nourishing light that gives life and will not know darkness. John 8:12 The Voice
Because Jesus Is, We Are: And you, beloved, are the light of the world. A city built on a hilltop cannot be hidden. Similarly it would be silly to light a lamp and then hide it under a bowl. When someone lights a lamp, she puts it on a table or a desk or a chair, and the light illumines the entire house. You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation, so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it. Matthew 5:14-16 The Voice
It will take each and every one of us to personally rise up and take our light into the darkness around us. Instead of hiding from the world or being overwhelmed by the evil of it, we need to strengthen our spiritual cores and trust in the power of God’s Spirit at work in us. Author ~ Christine Caine
And in the city, there is no need for the sun to light the day or moon the night because the resplendent glory of the Lord provides the city with warm, beautiful light and the Lamb illumines every corner of the new Jerusalem. Revelation 21:23 The Voice
One of the sweetest gifts God gives is called exhortation. It comes alongside the gift of faith, caring and giving and encourages people, pointing them to Jesus, Who truly is all they need. God has shaped this gift into me over the years I have been in relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit speaks His Words of exhortation. I hear, listen and write. I hope it blesses you as much as it does me. God bless you much.
