“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me. They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.” Psalms 18:16-19, 30-36 NLT
Absolutely Unexpected
Wow, that is not what I expected! U-Turn! This can happen in our lives; things happen not according to our plan. Everything in the all of our lives can point in one direction, and we set our expectations by what we see and experience daily in our lives. Suddenly God pulls a sharp U-turn and as we begin traveling this new direction, we feel like we left our stomach back at the U-turn, we feel so uneasy-queasy in our soul.
Pray It Up: Clear Discernment
We pray for our missionaries on this day. Sometimes being a missionary is really far from home, and sometimes it is in your neighborhood. Wherever God has placed you on mission, a sudden God U-Turn can be very hard to manage when you are on mission. Things are not always as they seem, but what we can count on when our enemy messes up the pathway we are on and we have to do a sharp U-Turn, is that God’s got us. The Holy Spirit, He is the navigator, we are not. During these times, we pray God gives our missionaries His discernment, clearly, and they move in followship of Him, in His Sovereign Sway. Listen up to this 1 Minute Encouragement video and be blessed by God:
U-Turn! Refocus! Jesus!
The best thing ever about being on mission, is all about “The One” Who called us out, set us apart, and makes our way, Jesus Christ. May our missionaries never lose sight of Him. After a sudden U-Turn, our heads spin a bit and we may have a hard time getting our bearings, yet the truth is, no matter what schemes or divisive plans our enemy puts in play, our enemy can’t stop the flow of God’s Providential Care. Every great challenge we face on mission with God, the God purposes in play in the challenge, are greater than the challenge itself. God’s purposes in play in our lives are always purposed for our good, and for the glory of His Kingdom. Even a sudden U-Turn will eventually, miraculously work out for our good. May every missionary, dear Father God, know this truth deep within their soul. Always, You, Lord God, are for us.
Pray It Up: Stead-Fast Faith
Jesus, for every missionary on mission with You, on this day, we pray for You to navigate them through every U-Turn that they will face. Help them to settle their soul after a sudden U-Turn, where they have left their expectations behind in that uneasy-queasy, loss of their stomach in the sharpness of a U-Turn. Help each and every missionary experiencing a U-Turn to always come back to the inner core spiritual strength they have in their vital-vertical relationship with you. Oh, the joy of a steadfast faith where we put all our expectations in Your hands, Almighty God, and wholly-holy align with Your way, truth and life.
On Mission And Experiencing A U-Turn? Talk To God!
Jesus, we put all of our expectations in Your Hands. Father God, You are good! Holy Spirit of God, Your endgame is for our good and Your Kingdom glory, as this U-Turn will prove to be for our best. Jesus, we pray You lead all missionaries by You Truth, navigate them to the best path so God’s plan, which is in motion, will end well, with much glory for Your Kingdom and an abundance of God good in them and through them. This is Your Providential Care for us. This is why when we can’t wrap our mind around what You are doing, we choose to trust Your Heart, Jesus, it is good.
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Psalms 62:5-8 NKJV
Rock Solid Faith-Hope! Pray It Up!
Jesus, may every missionary, on mission for you, on this day have a rock-solid faith that stands, a faith that is not moved by worldly situations going awry. We pray for our missionaries, that they will put all their hope and all their expectations in You. When they in the moment, don’t understand what You are doing, I pray that they will walk out of faith founded upon the Awe of their salvation with reverence, love and honor unto You, Lord God. Amen!
Thanks for joining us on the Prayer Mentor Table as we feast on such amazing spiritual meals as we pray for our missionaries, everyone who is on mission with God, wherever and however.
