Perfection ~ Family Prayer-5

“Allow life’s imperfections to become what the were always meant to be-everyday signs that point you to Jesus. Use them as your cues that encourage you to look up from the annoyances of earthly life and see Him. The one ONE who truly satisfies. “ Priscilla Shirer

Don’t Be Distracted By Imperfection

I pray for my family, that we won’t get caught up, and be distracted by all things earthy, that we forget our heavenly benefits, our incredible future and hope. Father God keep us from forgetting that our perfection is in Christ Jesus. Father God, there is the human condition, with all of its imperfection and if that is all we focus on, family life can become a life of strife. When imperfection in our home, work, or culture has our gaze, and our thoughts, we need to look up and see the Fixer, Jesus Christ, The Perfect One, and breathe in the grace of God, and ask for His help. Jesus is perfection and He can and He will, intervene as He is the only ONE Who can change up imperfection. Father God,  change up our imperfect family strife to perfect peace, by causing each family member to walk the path of gratitude and thankfulness, for this path leads to perfect peace.

But they were looking forward to a better home in heaven. This is why God wasn't ashamed for them to call him their God. He even built a city for them. If they had been talking about the land where they had once lived, they could have gone back at any time. Hebrews 11:15-16

Stay On Mission With Jesus

Jesus, draw our family away from the enticements of this world,  and help us to steer away from the temptation of leaning into an imperfect world. Instead focus us on the wonder of Who You are, and the majesty of Your Kingdom, the perfect future we have been promised in Christ Jesus.  Help us to seek first Your kingdom in the all of our everything, being Your ambassadors here on earth, representing all things You, Who is our perfection, our righteousness, Jesus! I pray our family will stay on mission with You, and keep away from the focus of  being the fixer of the imperfect, instead help each one of us acknowledge that You are the Fixer and we are not. You are perfect Jesus, we without You, are not good.

Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority! Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm. Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ. And as Christ himself is seen for who he really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now one with him in his glory! Colossians 3:1-4

Stop The Drift

We are so easily distracted and can drift away from You, Lord, without even knowing it, as we focus on the imperfections of our family members, of our neighborhood, of our co-workers and  of this world. It is also so easy to focus on everything we want here, and on the things we don’t have. We think perfect can be achieved if we have what we want,  instead of the perfection of being grateful for the things we do have. Help our family to be so, thankful for what we do have. Gratefulness is the path to peace for our family, so we pray our love for God and His Kingdom will cause us to boycott the things of this world and wholly-holy embrace God, His way, truth and life, first. Jesus, I pray we will be a family who thinks of You from every moment into every choice, being thankful for what we do have and yielding to You, Your way, truth and life in the things we don’t understand about our lives. Lord, teach me what you want me to do. And I will live by your truth. Teach me to respect you completely. Lord, listen to me and answer me. I am poor and helpless. Protect me, because I worship you. My God, save me, your servant. I trust in you. Lord, be merciful to me. I have called to you all day. Give happiness to me, your servant. Lord, I give my life to you.
                                                               Psalms 86:1-4,11

Got Expectations? Put Them In God’s Hands!

Jesus, I pray our family will decompartmentalize our lives, do this Holy Spirit, and create in us an undivided heart, (Psalm 86:11-12) that wants what You want. I pray to be a family that seeks after You first, and that knows Your heart on the matters of our life, so out of our life issues, will flow Your Truth. Jesus, we declare the world does not own our family and the only way for our family to deal with the imperfection that is all around us in the human condition, is giving Your Holy Spirit permission to speak into the all of our everything. Putting all our expectations in God’s hands, let us be a family where we do not hold back the some compartments, or areas of our lives, but welcome You in all of our lives. This is perfection! We don’t always get what we expect, so the safe place for expectations is in Your Hands, Jesus, do this work in each of us, in every single family member, so we all will wholly-holy serve You, Father God, in the all of our everything. I pray and hope for this family, all of us to simply-significantly be found in You, trusting You, believing You, and  taking all of our expectations (Psalm 62:5-8) of family members, people at work, people in our neighborhood, and all those who we are doing life with, and putting them in Your perfect Hands. Take a moment and pray this scripture for your family:

My passion is to be consumed with him and not cling to my own “righteousness” based in keeping the written Law. My only “righteousness” will be his, based on the faithfulness of Jesus Christ—the very righteousness that comes from God. And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. I will be one with him in his sufferings and become like him in his death. Only then will I be able to experience complete oneness with him in his resurrection from the realm of death. To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness. I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. Philippians 3:8-14
