Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Peace! Be Still!
Peace be still. We all have anxieties in this harried, hurried and very busy culture we live in. Anxiety can truly be a sleep robber. Have you ever spent a sleepless night, so frustrated and restless that you wanted to jump out of your skin? I sure have. I have spent many sleepless nights restlessly walking on anxiety street. Listen Up to this 1 Minute Encouragement video on the wisdom of avoiding anxiety street.
Anxiety Is NOT Fun
Anxiety, restlessness and frustration is a circle of stress which builds on itself creating more and more anxiety in your soul and this is not a good subscription for sleep. Been there and felt that lack of sleep. Sleepless in anxiety. Not fun. In fact, anxiety street, don’t take that road, it is a dead end. Anxiety can be so tormenting, especially at night when it keeps us awake, fretting and embraced by fear. The enemy of our soul loves when he can steal our sleep and our joy.
Sleeplessness – Insomnia Peace Stealer
Sleeplessness, what causes it? Worry, overthinking things, and sudden changes. We can step into a new life, a new thing God is doing, where we can’t see ahead, and we can stress over it and feel, feel, feel so overwhelmed by it. Sometimes change triggers sleeplessness when we are not trusting God in that wholly-holy kind of way. Our soul becomes like a window, with foggy dew that diminishes our view of what’s ahead. What To Do?
So what now, anxiety ridden ones? Well, we can step out on our feet of faith, where we put our trust in action and willessly activate our faith by God’s power in us, or we can remain powerlessly entangled in anxiety and fear? Which one? I am thinking an activation of faith which stomps on anxiety and pushes past what we think we know, and embraces the new.
“Yes, you must surrender your personal agenda. Why? Your problems are not really an emotional issue about what you think and rationalize is happening in your life. The heart of the matter should be what I know is occurring in your life. Who are you focused on? Is it Me or is it you? My will or what you want? Peace! Be still! Be at peace in Me and content with Me. It begins with a submissive, obedient heart. Do you believe what touches your life is My sovereign will? Are you willing to be compliant and accept My plans for you? Will you sit in the potter’s chair and be responsive clay? Will you say yes to Me before you see the design I picked out for you? I pray and hope for you to choose to cling to Me in absolute adoration and trust. Excerpt From The Bridegroom’s Voice By KimberlyMac
We Believe In God, BUT Do We Believe Him?
These seasons of trepidation that we step into, these are times we activate our faith with feet of trust and we move forward, stepping out in followship of God. Anxiety, responds to movement, it lessens as we move forward in faith, and clinging to the Promises of God. Jesusexpels the darkness of fear, expunging anxiety and replacing it with the positive followship of the peace of God as we move forward with Him. Trust is activated and anxiety is stomped out when we let go of something that is just not working out, no matter how hard we try, and we put it in God’s hands, all of it, even our expectations. My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved. With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God! Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that] Psalm 62:5-8
Pray It Up: Be Led Forth In Peace ~ Go Out In JOY
Today is the day God is in, we need to stay present with Him in this day. What is behind us, He’s got that. The responsibility we have on this day is to believe God’s Holy Spirit has our back, He has gone before us, He is our Way-Maker God and our rear guard. The peace of God, we should let it soul saturate us, so we will be a reflection of the harmony of God. When we walk in God’s peace we can be a disruption of chaos in our harried, hurried, busy culture. In the peace of God, we can let go, yield to His Rulership of love over our lives, and lay down and sleep in peace, (Psalm 14:4-8) getting up refreshed, strong and going forth in God’s joy. This I hope and pray for us.
