Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home. Romans 12:11-13 The Passion Translation
The Reactions Of A Spoiled Human Nature
Do we stop serving God because we did not get what we asked for, what we wanted? Are we self-absorbed in our own lives, wants, dreams and desires? Are we in getting what we think we want, doing what we think will make us happy, being responsible for the generation beneath us? What is the condition of our family life legacy? Do people know who our family belongs to and serves? Let’s change this up in our family life and let’s begin this heart transformation by praying it up to the only one who can change the heart atmosphere in our homes from serving this world to serving the Kingdom of God.
Pray It UP For Your Family:
Jesus change the heart of our family from a self-absorbed heart to a servant’s heart.
Jesus, make away for every family member to have their identity put wholly-holy in You.
Jesus, change the course of our family to being all in with You, so we are writing a living legacy to our world
Jesus, cause our family to shift from serving this world to serving Your Kingdom first.
Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away. But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. Hebrews 10:36-39 New Living Translations
Patient Endurance
When trouble comes, do we patiently endure? Do we let our dashed expectations rule our will? Think on this: Is this world the only one you know, love and serve? Does your family life reflect service to The Kingdom of God? Or are you leaning into the sway of the culture who thinks this is the only world? Do you get upset with God when you don’t get your way? Is your family family’s relationship with God all about getting? Do you take time in your family life to remember what God has already said? Does your family remember that God has the final word? Are you in a winter season that feels like spring will never come?
Pray It UP For Your Family:
Lord God, wrap the principles and power of Hebrews 10:36-39 around the heart and mind of our family.
Jesus develop patient endurance in each one of our family members by Your Holy Spirit
Take away the dread from our family life as we look at this world’s condition and turn our focus back to the hope of our future, Your final word for our family.
Jesus cause each family member to remember the responsibility they have to the next generation, to live a Godly life of love truth and hope in You, from faith to faith.
Lord God, if our family is stuck in winter, bring us out into the spring of beautiful heart to heart relationship with You.
Holy Spirit, help our family write a strong Godly, living legacy, for the next generation to read, by giving the pen to God and allowing Him to write our story.
Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysterious way he carries out his plans? For who has discovered how the Lord thinks or is wise enough to be the one to advise him in his plans? “Who has ever first given something to God that obligates God to owe him something in return. And because God is the source and sustainer of everything, everything finds fulfillment in him. May all praise and honor be given to him forever! Amen! Romans 11:33-36 The Passion Translation
Focus On God’s Bigger Plan
God does not owe our family anything. When we pray, we know Jesus doesn’t have to do anything for us, that He answers our prayers according to His purposes already in play in our lives. God has already done the best thing that could ever be done for us, by sending His Son Jesus to pay our sin-debt that we could not pay. Jesus came to us, sacrificed His life for us, so we could live in Him and through Him now, today, tomorrow and unto forever. When we put our expectations in God and He doesn’t do things the way we think they should be done, and things do not go the way we think they should go, or the way we asked Him for, then we get disappointed. That is the human condition. What will we lean into? God’s Sovereign Sway or the emotions of our human condition?
Pray It UP For Your Family
Jesus, we pray for each person in our family who have walked away from You because of being disappointed by Your Sovereign Will in play in their lives. We ask You, Jesus to turn their hearts back to You, to Your way, truth and life.
Jesus, forgive us for not accepting the gift of Your life given for us, the salvation that is our way to our future and hope. Forgive us for taking this salvation, bought by Jesus’ life for granted, for not being grateful, for wanting things of this world more than we want Your Kingdom.
Father cause our family to put all our expectations in You and experience the joy of our future and hope.
Father God, may the heart of our family reflect this healthy expectation: Psalm 62:5-6
Father if our family is stuck in winter, we pray, we look to You and we hope in You to bring forth the spring in the heart of our family.
1 Peter 3:18 Christ’s Victory~ Christ suffered and died for sins once and for all—the innocent for the guilty—to bring you near to God by his body being put to death and by being raised to life by the Spirit. The Passion Translation
Standard Of Righteousness
Truth should be the standard of what is right and should be set firmly in our family homes. We can’t let our emotions override the truth and the truth is this: no matter if Jesus says yes, no or maybe to our prayer request, we still have the greatest gift of all, the “once for all” transformation, the greatest change up that mankind could ever and will ever know. If our family is growing through an unbearable winter season without the hope of spring, we remember what Jesus did for us. The gift of “Death To Life” and the Way-Maker of such an incredible miracle, still with us, still for us. So, if we don’t get our way about something we wanted here, we should let go of our disappointment and cling to the joy we have in our future and hope. God does not owe us anything and we need to set our expectations higher than this world, to the way, truth and life He has already bought for us.
Pray It UP For Your Family
Lord Jesus raise up a standard of truth in our family and fly a banner of love over our family.
Jesus, wash our family of all of our sins we committed by letting our emotions rule us and change it up in our home to an atmosphere of truth trumping emotions.
Jesus, saturate the soul of each family member with Your Promise of our future and hope and bring our soul from winter to beautiful spring.
Jesus, cause each of us in this family to serve the power and authority higher than ourselves, which is You.
Help our family, Holy Spirit, to navigate through the disappointments of this world to the truth of what God has already done for us and let us know it is enough, settle this deep within our family’s heart and cause us to put all of our expectations in You, for the good and glory of Your Kingdom.
Father God, when our family has a harsh winter season and it doesn’t seem to let up, we pray for Your purposes to be achieved and when the spring comes, we will thank you with the heavenly hindsight of just how much you have worked into our family life that has been good for our heart. Help us to trust You with our winter seasons and believe spring will come.
“And this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken! Isaiah 50:21 NLT
