“Beloved, relax in My loving Presence. Let the Light of My Love soak into your entire being. Rest deeply while I massage your thoughts and feelings, helping you change your focus from yourself to Me.” Sarah Young
Isaiah 51:16 “I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.'”
Psalm 23:4-6 Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near. You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows. So why would I fear the future? For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterward, when my life is through, I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!
Surrounded By God’s Purposes
Life being played out all around us, it is never as it seems, this is the great thing about being loved by our Awe-GOD. God’s purposes are in play in our lives from every moment into every situation we face. Yes, we are challenged and sometimes we feel completely surrounded, walled in by our enemy without a way of escape. Every challenge we face, the God purpose in play in the challenge, is always greater than the challenge. We are surrounded by the purposes of God in play for our lives. It may feel like we are surrounded by the enemy and all of his tricks and deceptions, but the reality of truth is, God is always with us, we are always surrounded by Him, His way, truth and life.
Don’t attempt to fight the enemy in your own strength. You will experience burnout, and you will fail. Don’t even think about it! The key is to engage in spiritual warfare God’s way. And that is by resting in him and fighting from victory, not for victory!” ― Pedro Okoro
This Is How I Fight My Battles
I fight my battles by knowing God, making my relationship with Him, personal. The more I know Him, the more I realize that He is an incredible Advocate for me. I might be surrounded by “can’t do” but I am championed by a “can do” God, a Way-maker God like no other. Doing life heart-2-heart with Jesus is victorious living, His name is powerful and He is able to cancel all the assignments of the devil against me. Jesus is unbelievable at taking the weapons formed against me and transforming their impact into purposeful Christian maturity for me. I may be surrounded by an enemy who thinks he can prosper by killing my dreams, destroying my hope and stealing my joy, but what he thinks he can do, is never what he accomplishes, as my Advocate, God’s Holy Spirit, guides me, teaches me and navigates me clear of the pits my enemy digs for me.
Isaiah 51:12-16 What Are You Afraid of—or Who? “I, I’m the One comforting you. What are you afraid of—or who? Some man or woman who’ll soon be dead? Some poor wretch destined for dust? You’ve forgotten me, God, who made you, who unfurled the skies, who founded the earth. And here you are, quaking like an aspen before the tantrums of a tyrant who thinks he can kick down the world. But what will come of the tantrums? The victims will be released before you know it. They’re not going to die. They’re not even going to go hungry. For I am God, your very own God, who stirs up the sea and whips up the waves, named God-of-the-Angel-Armies. I teach you how to talk, word by word, and personally watch over you, Even while I’m unfurling the skies, setting earth on solid foundations, and greeting Zion: ‘Welcome, my people!'” The Message
“Prayer is repeating the victor’s name (Jesus) into the ears of Satan and insisting on his retreat.” S. D. Gordon
Praise Him When I Win, Praise Him When I Lose
There is so much to be thankful for, even if we are surrounded with bad news, hard situations and people who are hurting people. Praise is how we fight the battles where the enemy surrounds us with hopelessness, despair, strife and fear. When we focus on what is surrounding us, we sink into the pit of despair and this is exactly where the enemy wants us. There are giants in this land, we do feel surrounded by them at times, and the best way to fight them is praise. We lose some battles when we react to our sudden attacks of our enemy, but when we lose, we praise God and when we win, we praise God, always we praise God because this is how we fight our battles and win. We humbly bow, we acknowledge God and we praise Him and this raises up a standard of truth and joy, the very joy we need as our strength to stand and patiently endure, as our Way-Maker God works in the unseen for our good.
Isaiah 25:4-5 Because You stand up for the poor and weak, You comfort and empower them in their distress, giving them safe harbor and cool shade when it’s hot; You shelter them from their oppressors’ blows as a strong wall holds back the driving rain. You shelter from the relentless heat of the desert. You quiet the clamor of outsiders, ease them to stillness. Like a full, dark cloud relieves the heat, You silence the arrogant song of the violent.
