A Foundation Of Thanksgiving!
Morning Manna!
Mark 8:1-8 Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand
During those days another large crowd gathered. They had nothing to eat. So Jesus called for his disciples to come to him. He said, 2 “I feel deep concern for these people. They have already been with me three days. They don’t have anything to eat. 3 If I send them away hungry, they will become too weak on their way home. Some of them have come from far away.” 4 His disciples answered him. “There is nothing here,” they said. “Where can anyone get enough bread to feed them?” 5 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied. 6 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. He took the seven loaves and gave thanks to God. Then he broke them and gave them to his disciples. They set the loaves down in front of the people. 7 The disciples also had a few small fish. Jesus gave thanks for them too. He told the disciples to pass them around. 8 The people ate and were satisfied. After that, the disciples picked up seven baskets of leftover pieces.

Good Manna… Fed My Spirit This Morning!
Trusting Jesus For My Daily Manna
My spirit is fed with hope when I read and reread the above Manna because I deeply realize that Jesus Christ is my Bread of Life! I wonder though, how intimately did his disciples really know Him and trust Him? My first thought of the above conversation is that they did not automatically think of Him as an able provider! Did it seem to you as if they looked to their circumstances first and surmised that because of where they were at that naturally there was no provision to be found and there was no possible way that they would be able to feed this many people or even begin to be able to satisfy their hunger! I wonder if I would have reacted the same way? I wonder if my relationship with Jesus is deep enough to realize His Provision for me today? It is easy to see now when we read this account that the disciples had Jesus right with them and they did not even think of Him as The Bread Of Life and that He was able to feed the five thousand, they did not look to Him for the Provision they needed.
Jesus Modeled Thanksgiving
The second thing that the Holy Spirit nurtures me with as I partake this good manna is the revelation in my Spirit of The Bread Of Life asking the people to sit down, to recline in His Presence and expectantly wait and then how He instantly lays a foundation of thanksgiving in their hearts before He feeds them! I just love how He gave thanks for the seven loafs and fishes that He did have, even though it looked like at that moment in time, this Manna was in fact not adequate to meet the human need at hand! He was genuinely thankful for what He had in His hands because He knew that the Father was working in the unseen and once The Bread Of Life was broken it would feed all eternal life!
Jesus Is Enough In Every Situation
The third thing I realized as I ate this Good Manna was my Lord, Jesus Christ taking that which simply not enough and breaking it and then feeding everyone to complete satisfaction and evening having seven baskets full left over and when Jesus works in our lives, there is always a complete satisfaction with leftovers to give to others!
Good Manna… Made My Spirit Fat!
Faithful
Holy Spirit help me always to be faithful in every situation to thank You for what I do have! Lord, I enjoyed this manna so much because it laid a foundation in my soul of the beauty of being thankful for all that I do have, because You Lord Jesus are simply enough!
Available
Father God help me to learn to be available, to be Jesus to the world around me, even though what I personally have to offer is simply not enough, because when I look to Jesus… He is simply enough!
Teachable
I learned this today from you, Lord Jesus: You gave thanks first for what You did have in Your hand and out of that attitude of thanksgiving You broke it and then flowed forth enough provision for everyone to eat and be satisfied. Awesome! Good Manna!
