Just A Thought
And To The Place Where I Am Going, You Know The Way.
John 14:4 Amplified Bible
Jesus Is The Way! The way to heaven, the way to our future is the same way that He showed us. A way of dying to self, a way of suffering and self-sacrifice. Christianity is sometimes sold with a very flowery, all is going to be so beautiful kind of theology. Come to Jesus and you won’t ever again have any problems or worries, you can be prosperous and successful in all you do. This is not the real picture because it is painted on a worldly canvas. We live in a fallen world, so nothing can really be perfect here.
What Is Christianity? Christianity is all about the Kingdom of God and its King. The Savior of this Kingdom of Heaven did not promises us that we would not have any more trials or tests, BUT He did promise to be with us. Jesus’ peace is perfect for every situation we face and HIS life in us does give us a future in the Kingdom we do belong too. We can do greater things than we could ever hope for, dream of or imagine as we cling to Jesus in wholly-holy followship of Him.
Is The Way Easy? When I become a Christian, does this mean the way to heaven is going to be easy, no it means the opposite! The way to Jesus is going to be hard to follow, narrow and full of traps. We do have an enemy who is constantly trying to trick us and trap us! BUT more importantly we have the Holy Spirit, Who lives in us, WHO is our Guide, our Advocate and our incredible Comforter in times such as these, where wounded, hurting, confused people who need Jesus Christ, are very violent hurters. Hurting people, hurt people. The consequences of the sin of others touch our lives sometimes in very violent ways, but the Holy Spirit is masterful at turning those things meant to harm us into Kingdom good!
Suffering- Self Sacrifice Is The Way! The way to heaven is the same way Jesus took as He walked among those who were lost, reaching for them, pointing them to The Father God. Jesus was always staying on mission, no matter what the obstacles were and sharing the truth, even if it meant suffering and dying to all things self. Yes, Jesus is the way, follow after His footsteps and die to self, giving your all for the Kingdom of God. Suffering persecution is a part of this way to the Kingdom of God, but we do not suffer or grieve in our humanity alone or without constant HOPE of our future. To live is gain, to die is gain. We, Bride of Christ, are in a win-win situation, so lay everything out on God’s Harvest field and fight the good fight of faith!
“His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Luke 22:44
“If men suffer great pain of mind apparently the blood rushes to the heart. The cheeks are pale; a fainting fit comes on; the blood has gone inward as if to nourish the inner man while passing through its trial. But see our Savior in his agony; he is so utterly oblivious of self, that instead of his agony driving his blood to the heart to nourish himself, it drives it outward to bedew the earth. The agony of Christ, inasmuch as it pours him out upon the ground, pictures the fullness of the offering which he made for men.” Author: Charles Spurgeon
