Ezekiel 3:22 There the hand of the Eternal came upon me, and His voice spoke to me: Eternal One: Get up, and venture out to the plain near Tel-abib. I will speak to you there.
God Is Speaking To Families
God has been continually speaking to families throughout all the ages. God spoke back then and God is still speaking now. God is speaking to families today. God is for our families and His heart’s desire is for Him to be at the center of our family lives. God hopes for the heart of our family to be undivided towards Him. God has always been this way, He has always pursued families over generations of time, hoping for His way, His truth and His life to be the central part of their family lives. He has loved us with an undivided heart, always for us, always present in our family lives. God started family life, it is something that He plans to finish well. He is shaping in families an undivided heart for Him, a heart unified with His and reflecting His life to others.
Psalm 86:11 Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. New International Readers Version
God Is Shaping Your Family Life
God creates each family with a specific personality and shape and He uses many diversified things to mold us into the families that we uniquely are. He loves us enough to “grow us” and sometimes this growth takes place most in the hard places our family faces in this fallen world. Whether we are in a good place or whether we are in a hard place in our family life, God is with us and He is loving us, growing us through, and this does not ever change. God is always our Advocate, making the most out of every situation our family is growing through, using it to purposefully shape His life in our family life.
“God’s love being unchangeable, He is just as loving when we do not see or feel His love. Also His love and His sovereignty are co-equal and universal; so He withholds the enjoyment and conscious progress because He knows best what will really ripen and further His work in us.” Author~ Francis Ridley Havergal
Undivided Hearts Have Selfless Souls
Family life is definitely a challenge at times, especially in a season such as this. In our world today families are basically culturally soul saturated with self-seeking ideas that point us away from dependence on Jesus and leave us with bad symptoms of self-absorption. In seeking the excessive worldly treasures advertised culturally by our media at all times, in all places, the hearts of our family are divided by selfishness, a strong focus on taking care of ourselves first at all cost. When family members are pursuing their own personal gain at the cost of others, this is very divisive to family unity and totally outside of the plan of God for family life. God’s way is self-sacrificing and humbly looking out for others gain more than you do for yourself to gain. Less is more. Less of us and more of God is conducive to creating an undivided family heart.
Philippians 2:3-6 Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God. Living Bible
Purposefully God Is Creating Undivided Family Hearts
There are so many shapes, sizes, personalities, giftedness of family members and this makes up the dynamic of our family life. Sure we have challenges blending together such individuality into one family unit. But don’t count God out of this. God selected you to be in the family He gifted you with, purposefully so. We have a place in our family, a place only we can fill. God is dealing with us individually, to shape us to fill the shoes of blessing for our family life. God uses challenges to prepare us to be better family units. In all the challenges that our family faces, whether they are big or small, the greatest thing about a family challenge is the God purpose in it, especially ordained by God, a kingdom purpose that is always flowing in the challenge, which will be greater than the challenge itself. Your family challenges can be faced with confidence, because they are used purposefully by God to shape an undivided heart towards Him in your family life.
“At the very heart and foundation of all God’s dealings with us, however dark and mysterious they may be, we must dare to believe in and assert the infinite, unmerited, and unchanging love of God. Love permits pain… Where would be faith, without trial to test it; or patience, with nothing to bear; or experience, without tribulation to develop it?” Author~L.B. Cowman
God Has A Great Future For Your Family
Lean into God’s sovereign sway and open up your hearts wide to Him in that undivided way, so there are no compartments in your family life, so you are wide open to God and what He has planned for your family. A family with an undivided heart says welcome home to God and He is invited to the all of their everything in their family life. God has incredible plans for families whose hearts are undivided towards Him. His purposes are in play right now working towards the best for your family. As you are open-hearted towards God, God is also undivided in heart towards your family and He is with you right now! No doubt about it. God is with you now and His purposes are flowing throughout your family life, creating a beautiful undivided heart that will bloom in selflessness.
Jeremiah 29:11-12 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear your voice and I will listen to you. Amplified Bible
