A Smorgasbord Of Delight
I love reading a lot of different books by Christian authors. It is a great way to learn so much great godly wisdom. I meet with God every single day and I ask the Holy Spirit to “teach me”. I like being taught by God. A lot of times, the Holy Spirit will lead me to specific books, to a specific page and it always is exactly what I need to hear. I call it: God’s Smorgasbord of delight! This post is indicative of one day where the Holy Spirit led me to many different books that I had already read and gave me specific page numbers and I gleaned a lot of wisdom, which I joyfully share with you today. The cool thing about being in relationship with God is that He always does things very creatively and abundantly. There is no doubt about it, you always walk away from your devotional times with God, super abundantly filled to the overflowing, so you can share with others. So, that is just what I am doing today. Enjoy nourishing your soul!
The Red Sea Rules By Robert Morgan
Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer! James 5:16 TPT
“Looking back over the years, I’ve never faced a crisis in which, in response to earnest prayer, whether prolonged or instant, God didn’t make a way. That is the great secret of those who put their hands in the hand of the One who can part the seas.” Robert J. Morgan
Names Of Christ By T.C. Horton
“Spiritual leaders, like our Lord Jesus, are to be a source of protection and refreshing for God’s people.” See John 10:10-11. T. C. Horton
“Our Savior, we cannot live without the waters of life. May our spirits be nourished with living water gushing up to eternal life. Amen.” T. C. Horton
Isaiah 32:1-3 A King and His Princes~32 Look—a new era begins! A king will reign with righteousness, and his princes according to justice! Each will be a hiding place from the stormy wind and a secret shelter from the tempest. Life will flow from each one, like streams of water in the desert, like the refreshing shade of a massive rock in a weary, thirsty land. Then at last, eyes that are ready to see will finally be opened! Ears that are ready to hear will finally be opened!
“No matter how deep our thirst, how great our longing or our need, He who is as “rivers of Water in a Dry Place” has said, “Lo, I am with you. Drink and be satisfied.” T. C. Horton
Streams In The Desert By L.B. Cowman
Matthew 14:12-13 The Passion Translation John’s disciples went into the prison and carried his body away and buried it. Then they left to find Jesus and tell him what had happened. On hearing this, Jesus slipped away privately by boat to be alone.
“There Is No Music During A Musical Rest, But The Rest Is Part Of Making The Music.” L. B. Cowman
“In the melody of our life, the music is separated here and there by rests. During those rests, we foolishly believe we have come to the end of the song. God sends us times of forced leisure by allowing sickness, disappointed plans, and frustrated efforts. He brings a sudden pause in the choral hymn of our lives, and we lament that our voices must be silent. God does not write the music of our lives without a plan. Our part is to learn the tune and not be discouraged during the rests.” L.B. Cowman
“I get up every day, I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me, keep me safe from all unknown danger and navigate me through the day with courage, zeal, compassion and love.” KimberlyMac
Replenish By Lance Witt
“What is godly ambition? How is that different from personal ambition?” Lance Witt
Philippians 2:3-8 Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. 4 Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. 5 And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation. The Example of Jesus Christ~6 He existed in the form of God, yet he gave no thought to seizing equality with God as his supreme prize. 7 Instead he emptied himself of his outward glory by reducing himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human! 8 He humbled himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in his death—a criminal’s death by crucifixion!
“Ambition is a double-edged sword. When it is God-directed and Spirit-managed, it can bear tremendous fruit. When it is restrained by humility, ambition can be a powerful motivator. But when it is hijacked by self and ego, it can leave a wake of destruction in its path.” Lance Witt
Instruments In The Redeemer’s Hand
“When we say that God designed human beings to be interpreters, we are getting to the heart of why human beings do what they do. Our thinking conditions our emotions, our sense of identity, our view of others, our agenda for the solution of our problems, and our willingness to receive counsel from others.” Paul David Tripp
“God intended worship to be the motivational core of our lives. Adam and Eve were created to live so that everything in their lives drew its meaning and purpose from the person, presence, and purpose of God. This is called a God-ward referent. Because of this design, everything a human being does expresses worship. What you do and the way you do it express your desire to serve something. Some central love commands our allegiance and directs our behavior.” Paul David Tripp
Life Principles From The Women Of The Bible: By Wayne Barber
Romans 12:19-20 Beloved, don’t be obsessed with taking revenge, but leave that to God’s righteous justice. For the Scriptures say: “If you don’t take justice in your own hands, I will release justice for you,” says the Lord. 20 And: If your enemy is hungry, buy him lunch! Win him over with kindness. For your surprising generosity will awaken his conscience, and God will reward you with favor.
“Whatever you experience in the consequences of sin, God knows when enough consequence have been paid. I am so grateful for that! God is the only one who knows how much we can take, and He is the only one who knows what kind of consequences to orchestrate in our lives when we have sinned. He is the one who brings brokenness and eventual repentance. I don’t want to be in your hands if I have done something wrong. I would much rather be in His because He is a merciful God and knows exactly when “enough is enough”! Wayne Barber Dig Deeper
