“Thought Is Not Only Brightened And Clarified In Prayer, But Thought Is Born In Prayer.” Author ~ E.M. Bounds
For our knowledge is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect, and our prophecy, our teaching is fragmentary, incomplete and imperfect. But when the complete and perfect total comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away, become antiquated, void, and superseded. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside. For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim, blurred reflection of reality as in a riddle or enigma, but then when perfection comes, we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part, imperfectly, but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood by God. 1 Corinthians 13:9-12 Amplified Bible
“If we expect perfection out of life in general we usually tend to expect the same thing from people. That type of “unrealistic expectation” not only meets with a great deal of disappointment when our expectations are not met, but also places unbearable pressure on people we care about and can eventually destroy relationships. Why not give people a break and stop demanding something rom them they have no ability to produce.” Author ~ Joyce Meyer (Excerpt From Book: Power Thoughts)
Lies! Wrung Out By The Enemy
That person is me being divisively, with evil intentions wrung out emotionally by my enemy in failure after failure, as I keep trying to fix something that isn’t going to fix. I have been demanding from myself to be perfect in a situation that is not perfect and it has taken all the joy out of my life and made me feel like a constant loser. I can’t beat this situation or fix it. But I can be found in God, in all my imperfections, not having to be perfect in an imperfect situation, letting go and letting Him and enjoying my life, instead of trying to perfect something that just is not going to change right now and is frustrating the literal “hell” out of me.
“The purpose of Satan is to engineer our fall through accusations: “Since we cannot be perfect,” sighs the believer resignedly, “then what is the use?”” Author ~ Watchman Nee
Truth! I Can’t Fix This Imperfect Situation
I realize that for a lot of years I have been trying to make an imperfect situation perfect by me trying to be perfect in it. That has not happened, I can’t fix the situation. So now I am dropping back to punt accepting that I am not going to get the touch down on this side of heaven, but at least I can get the field goal and put some points on the board for the Kingdom right now. Touch downs will happen when I let go and let God, when I stop trying to be the fixer, the perfect person in an imperfect situation.
“Our peace and confidence are to be found not in our empirical holiness, not in our progress toward perfection, but in the alien righteousness of Jesus Christ that covers our sinfulness and alone makes us acceptable before a holy God.” ~ Assorted Authors
I Have Been Gifted A Perfect Kingdom
When I start enjoying this world, which God made to be good for me and stop trying to fix all the human issues that make this world bad at times, my joy will return in full. I may not be perfect, but I will be joyful! My focus, my hope, my plans, my dreams and my roots need not to be here in this imperfect world, but need to be in the Kingdom, my future, where life will be perfect and so will I. Clinging to God and having my life roots deeply planted in the Kingdom, I will no longer need to have a perfect life here or be perfect in this imperfect world. In fact, I may just enjoy the imperfection and lighten up a bit so God’s glory can glow through me here as His broken vessel of light as the weak imperfections stream brightly the strong perfection of Jesus in me.
“If we want to say positive, we have to realize that everything is not black or white. Life has some gray areas, some “in-betweens”. Everything can’t be perfect all the time and everything isn’t horrible all the time. To stay upbeat about life, accept that you won’t be perfect all the time, and neither will the people or things around you. In what specific ways do you need to be more accepting of the “imperfect areas” in your life or in the way someone else’s imperfect areas affect you?” Author ~ Joyce Meyer (Excerpt From Book: Power Thoughts)
I Am Weak, God Is Strong In Me
Am I perfect, NO. Is Jesus in me perfect YES. I am leaning into HIM and letting Him take my imperfect human mess and make it into His perfect message that perfectly points others to Him, His purposes and His Kingdom. This world is good, because God made it so. It is a good world with human issues, therefore good, but not perfect. The Kingdom of God is perfect and for now I praise God with a broken halleluiah, but there I will praise Him as wholly-holy His.
This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.” Jeremiah 29:10-11
