An incredible Good Morning Manna Scripture To Take In The Beauty Of THe Promises Made, The Reality Of Truth And The Peace of God: Psalm 34: 12-17 Do you want to live a long, good life, enjoying the beauty that fills each day? Then never speak a lie or allow wicked words to come from your mouth. 14 Keep turning your back on every sin, and make “peace” your life motto. Practice being at peace with everyone. 34:14 Twice in this verse David used the Hebrew word shalom. This word means much more than “peace.” It means wholeness, wellness, well-being, safe, happy, friendly, favor, completeness, to make peace, peace offering, secure, to prosper, to be victorious, to be content, tranquil, quiet, and restful. So shalom is used to describe those of us who have been provided all that is needed to be whole and complete and break off all authority that would attempt to bind us to chaos. 15 The Lord sees all we do; he watches over his friends day and night. His godly ones receive the answers they seek whenever they cry out to him. 16 But the Lord has made up his mind to oppose evildoers and to wipe out even the memory of them from the face of the earth. 17 Yet when holy lovers of God cry out to him with all their hearts, the Lord will hear them and come to rescue them from all their troubles.
Trying To Be “The Fixer” Is Incredibly Exhausting
There is so much beauty around us and peace tags along with that God beauty. God’s beauteous things, we sometimes miss a lot of it, we are so distracted by what we are pursuing in this life. There have been those times where God stopped my cray-cray life style of the harried and the stressed, right in my tracks. Have you ever had that time when God said: “Hey you! Do I have your attention? Look, look and truly see and enjoy the God beauty filling the day at hand.” Being the fixer keeps us way too busy. We are naturally self-fixers and try to self-figure out all the life riddles in the situations we are growing through. Ever been an over thinker? Overthinking everything with our dependence on the BIG I and not God, is exhausting, incredibly so!
If only I had ____ then my life would be ____. Whatever sits on the other side of your “if only” is the thing you are living for at that moment and the thing that you think will give you the peace of life that you think is missing. What does God need to do for me in order for me to feel content? When do I struggle the most to believe God is faithful? When am I tempted to envy others or to think God has favorites? Does the withholding of what seems good cause me to question if He is good? Where does my heart still live under the rulership of the gift rather than the righteous and loving rule of the giver? Fixing And Figuring
True This! We stir up our own chaos by trying to fix and figure things out. I can sometimes see the smoke rising from my overheated mind. Fix and figure it out. This kind of dependence on ourselves truly does distract us from all things present. We are so distracted with fixing and figuring that we are not even Present with the ones we are present with, much less truly seeing and experiencing the beauty of life. When our minds are distracted and in full fix-figure gear spinning mode we miss out on everything, we miss out on God’s beauty that is tagged with His peace. We have stress, we have chaos, we have a tired mind and we have no peace. This is not how God created us to live. If I want peace to be my life motto, then I must let God be the fixer, the ONE Who can figure things out way better than me and finish so excellently well.
“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. 29 Simply join your life with mine. The metaphor of a yoke is that it joins two animals to work as one. It is not simply work or toil that is the focus here, but union with Christ. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. 30For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” Matthew 11:28-30
Experience The Oasis
Jesus is our living water, our Oasis. He has taught us that stressed out is not a good way to live life and is not conducive to forming peaceful attitudes. Stopping to smell the roses, enjoying the beautiful beach breezes brushing over your face with salt air. God has created beautiful things and when we are attentive to Him, He navigates us to see and appreciate the beauteous things He created, things that are tagged by His Peace. That is why when I walk the beach taking in all of its creative God beauty, I feel such peace in my soul.
Be Present In The Day At Hand
Right now, would be a good time to hand over to God all those things and all the people you are trying to fix and figure out. This is the way to true, lasting peace. Being a fixer and taking on the burden of figuring out is not our place and it distracts us from the beauty in the day at hand and disrupts our peace. Trust God, let Him Navigate our lives by His way, let Him be The Fixer, and then we can enjoy the beauty that fills each day and not miss one bit of it from sunrise to sunset, being present in the day at hand and learning and growing in an atmosphere of peace, instead of stumbling through life with a chaotic, harried and anxious heart. Let’s change it up, heart to heart to peace.
