God’s Promises

God’s Promises ~ Just As He Said

The promises of God are founded upon one strong promise with four powerful words. “Just As He Said”…what an absolutely beautiful thing to hear when you are full of grief and going to the tomb of Your Master, Jesus, to prepare His body for burial after He been crucified and died. Imagine if you were there and you heard this that first Easter Morning:

“He isn’t here—he has risen victoriously, just as he said! Come inside the tomb and see the place where our Lord was lying. Then run and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead! Matthew 28:6-7

Just As He Said

Jesus was resurrected from the dead. Just As He Said! And everything else He promised, and said, was absolute truth. We are promised so many things in the Word of God, and these promises made will be kept, just as He said. We can bloom in joy as we wait on the Promises of God.

God’s Promises

Promises don’t stand alone, there is so much evidence of their truth to be found. Just think of yourself as part of a jury and think of me, the author of this blog post as God’s Defense Attorney. Let’s look at a couple of the promises of Go today and let me present to you the evidence of truth from each one of the promises I bring to you today. It is always good to look at the evidence of something that was promised. Ready… let’s go!

We Are Promised God’s Salvation Just As He Said In Romans 10:9…
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Defense Attorney’s Evidence Of Truth For Romans 10:9

Ephesians 2:1, 4-5 “And his fullness fills you, even though you were once like corpses, dead in your sins and offenses. But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!”

Romans 6:23 states “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus”

The Subject Of This Evidence Is Jesus Christ

Isaiah 53:5-6 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. / We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

The Verdict is this: Promised Salvation is a gift of grace, underscoring God’s love and mercy towards humanity. We got something from God that we did not deserve.

The Defense Attorney’s Closing Statement For Romans 10:9

  • We have the evidence that Salvation encompasses deliverance from sin, reconciliation with God, and the promise of eternal life.
  • We have heard the testimony of truth that God’s gift of promised salvation  is both a present reality and a future hope.

  • We have deduced that salvation is not earned by human effort but is a gift from God, rooted in His merciful nature.
  • The evidence points out that Salvation is a promise and hope which sustains us believers through every life season, and this hope is not merely wishful thinking, but is grounded in the reality of Jesus’ resurrection from death to life.
  • We were gifted something we did not deserve, God’s Mercy.

Ephesians 2:8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

This is the inheritance of the Lord’s servants. Their victory comes from me,” declares the Lord.”

Psalms 46:1-3, 7 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. That is why we are not afraid even when the earth quakes or the mountains topple into the depths of the sea. Water roars and foams, and mountains shake at the surging waves. When you walk through persecution like fiery flames, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you,”

Not To Worry, Believe-Trust And Have Faith In God Philippians 4:6-7  “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour. Take a decisive stand against him and resist his every attack with strong, vigorous faith. For you know that your believing brothers and sisters around the world are experiencing the same kinds of troubles you endure. And then, after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, he will set you firmly in place and build you up. And he has all the power needed to do this —forever! Amen.”
