Finisher

“When You Walk With God, You Will Never Be Lost” By Karen Gibbs

Philippians 1:4-7 When I pray for you, my heart is full of joy 5 because of all your wonderful help in making known the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns. Living Bible

God Has Total Access To All Of Me

I have been one who has tried to chart my own course, and it never quite worked out the way I planned. I could never finish what I started. I left many unfinished things in life and sometimes that hurt people I was trying to help. This exhortation today will give us much wisdom in how to be an incredible finisher. Whenever I kindled my own fire and walked by the light of it, it always flamed out and left me in a darkness that felt so suffocating to my soul. Over the years, I have learned that when you serve a power no higher than self, you can’t finish well. God is the finisher, I am not. God is the Savior, I am not. God is the Messiah-Message, I am not. God is the Way-Maker, I am not. When I yield myself to Jesus, putting Him at the center of my life, giving Him the pen to write my story, the Christ in me, He finishes well in that incredibly excellent way of His. With Christ in me, my hope of glory, I will finish well, I will hear: Well done good and faithful servant. There is no doubt about it, Our God is an excellent finisher, trustworthy and faithful in all of His ways.

Isaiah 50:10-11″Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God. 11 Look, all you who kindle a fire, Who encircle yourselves with sparks: Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled— This you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in torment. New King James Version

Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them.” Elisabeth Elliott

Thinking In Deceptive Riddles Dishonors God

I struggled for so long with my mind assumptions. This made my mind a graveyard of insecurity and anxiety. I have done much better with this in the past few years. I developed new spiritual habits for my mind, setting up thought patterns from faith to faith, by taking all my questions first to God, placing all my expectations for answers in His capable Hands. God Is Able. Mind games with the enemy is a distraction that detours us from finishing, and keeps us from believing in the ability of God. In cutting off the power of the enemy’s suggestions that caused me to assume things that I thought I knew, but didn’t know for sure, I accepted no more assumptions. I took speculations, rationalizations, speculations, presuppositions captive and cast them out of my mind, and this shut the door on all the doubtful speculation that truly dishonored God. Reverence for God is unencumbered when truth is the atmosphere of your soul. An assumption, speculation, rationalization, theory, presupposition or opinion, these are not truth. This is why I stopped giving the enemy of my soul permission to speak doubt, fear or anxiety into my life through suggestive assumptions. There is so much peace in a soul ruled by truth and love, this is my Christ inheritance in me, my hope of glory. With my identity, wholly-holy in Christ, I am a finisher, as I grow through, the course of faith marked out for me.

“Not everything is yours to finish. Many tasks of great kingdom importance may not be wholly synchronized with your own lifetime or your particular generation. Still, choose to gratefully be a part of what God is doing by fully investing yourself in His great work. Yes, the work is His. And since it is, release it back to Him whenever He asks you to, trusting that the scope of it will be beyond your wildest imagination.” Priscilla Shirer

Hebrews 12:1-2 As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us[b] and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.

Pride Pushes Falsity Forward

The path is marked before us, but it gets muddled up and murky by the evil intentions and motives of others used by the enemy. In our day and age, we hear so many mediatic false-narrative frenzies and as people take in these lies, they become self-righteous in order to try to push a fake reality and spin a lie into a cubic zirconium, that on the surface seems to be shiny true, but it is founded upon emotions and not fact. It is just not the reality of truth. Pride pushes falsity forward with a bully spirit, as people try to prove something that they “think they know”, something that is a bold face lie, or an assumption or a speculation. This kind of obstacle will muddy up the water in our life race. God is not the author of murky confusion, but He is a Navigator like no other. Data mixed with the stank of bad political agendas can be like quicksand for people as they fall prey to a fake reality. In the midst of chaos, God asks us to step out of the murky water, by listening up and following His lead.

Isaiah 30:20-21 Even though the Lord may allow you to go through a season of hardship and difficulty, He himself will be there with you. He will not hide himself from you, for your eyes will constantly see him as your Teacher. 21 When you turn to the right or turn to the left, you will hear his voice behind you to guide you, saying, “This is the right path; follow it.” The Passion Translation

Disinformation: Information Corrupted By Evil Motives

We always should be in followship of God, as we run our life race on the firm ground of His Truth. In our Marathon Race of life, we are navigated by God’s Holy Spirit, a very dependable Advocate, Who is able to lead us out of the detour of murky water, to the path that has been marked out for us. The person who has permission to speak into my life first, is The Holy Spirit. My mom once said to me: “Be respectful, even if you don’t want to listen to people, just eat the meat and spit out the bones.” Our information in times such as these has been corrupted by evil motives, which translates into disinformation. So, I will listen and I will chew on the common sense and I will spit out the speculation, presupposition, and assumptions. In the end, the only person I give permission to speak into my heart, is The Holy Spirit of God. I listen up for that still small voice of the Holy Spirit: “This is the way, walk in it.” I listen up for the navigation of God.

Faith is the vision of the heart; it sees God in the dark as well as in the day.” – Unknown

Distractions Disrupt Our Focus

My worldly viewpoint is always a place of distraction for me, especially now in this life season where God is doing so much new, and I can hardly keep up with Him, I need to have a good kingdom perspective. It is a good thing to stay wholly-holy aligned with God. I do this through the daily adjustments the Holy Spirit makes in my heart position during my vital-vertical relationship with Him. I do not lead, I stay in followship of God. I am taught by God’s Holy Spirit. I am directed by His Living Word. I am navigated by listening up to Him first. At times, I do have to deal with the human condition of a person with a deplorable worldly viewpoint, but I don’t have to set my gaze on it. I can focus up to God, listening up for His Kingdom perspective. From the position of a learner, I can be from every moment to every choice, a mirror reflection of God’s heart passion. It is always a good day when I stay in constant conversation with God, and I know God’s heart desires, and I walk in His ways, finishing the day out with what He started.

“If you claim to be God’s child, you have been called to love. We do not have the natural compacity to carry out the call of love. We must understand the call of love is something deeper than being respectful, something deeper than relational comfortability, something deeper than an occasional act of service, it is something so deep and so fundamental that it actually requires a radical change of heart to live this life of love we are called to. This inescapable call to love is a hard call. This call of love is the highest and hardest call a human being could accept. Love has a source and it is not you, love has a source and that source is God.” Paul David Tripp

Hebrews 12:2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

Hebrews 12:1 “The race [personally] appointed to us.” God has a destiny for each of us that we are to give ourselves fully to reach. The Passion Translation
