They said to me, “Things are not going well for those who returned to the province of Judah. They are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem has been torn down, and the gates have been destroyed by fire.”4 When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. 5 Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands, 6 listen to my prayer! Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel. I confess that we have sinned against you. Yes, even my own family and I have sinned! 7 We have sinned terribly by not obeying the commands, decrees, and regulations that you gave us through your servant Moses. 8 “Please remember what you told your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful to me, I will scatter you among the nations. 9 But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth,1:9 Hebrew of the heavens. I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored.’ Nehemiah 1: 3-9 NLT
Acknowledge Our Sin
Yes, things are not going well. Our freedom is eroding from nation to nation. What is right and who is right is being lifted up as wrong and what is wrong and who is wrong is being lifted up as being right. In our worldly viewpoint we see evil killing, stealing and destroying all things good, and we see our liberty, freedom and justice for all in its last days. We confess our sins of idolatry of lifting up people and things higher than our God and we pray for His Mercy over judgement. We hope that in these times ahead His people will return wholly-holy to Him. We hope for hearts to be full of Awe, respect and reverence for God first as every idol falls and every person exercising illegitimate authority and deplorable human supremacy loses favor as corrupted power is not heeded to. Strengthen Your people Lord Jesus in times such as these, navigate us by Your Spirit and Truth and stretch our faith, increase our belief in You. Jesus, may You touch our hearts and change it up that we may once again believe in You as our simply-significantly enough. We pray for Your Mercy, Your Mercy Which Triumphs Over Judgement.
Pray It Up
Without You, Lord, what do we truly know? We know nothing. We only know what we think we know and this is not enough for times such as these where deception has been unleased on this earth by our spiritual enemy. We walked away from You, Jesus thinking we were enough and we took power and authority as being our own and we have corrupted it. Our justice system is corrupted, our government is corrupted because we know no power higher than self. We have made a human mess out of our society because we have bowed to idols created by those Who have taken supremacy to a whole new level of fraud and fake reality. Thinking that we can fix things by taking matters into our own hands and using sin as the fake saving way has ushered in failure. We need to confess our sin and turn our hearts wholly-holy back to God.
Change It UP
Sin only begets sin, likened to how darkness can’t produce light. Lord Jesus we pray for Your Mercy over Your Judgement. Forgive us. We are not the savior, You are. We are not the fixer, You are. We are not the creator, You are. We are not the supremacy, You are. We are not the message, You Are. We have changed this up, turned from these wicked ways to You, Jesus. We do not maintain what we did not create, You do. Forgive us Lord for following after the deception that we could live on our own without you. We change this up, we surrender to You, we give You total access to our lives and we wholly-wholly align our heart with Yours. Our culture is corrupted by the human condition lusting after power, position and supremacy over each other. Our unchecked sin has progressed into a “Cancel God” culture. Please forgive us. Please do not leave us to the will and evil intentions of our enemy, save us again from our human condition. We pray You would miraculously intervene. Have mercy on us Jesus. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Change it up for us, our worldly viewpoint into Your Kingdom Perspective. This battle is Yours, we look to You and in followship of You, we will step out as Your Servant Prayer Warriors.
