“For this time I am about to send all my plagues against you, your officials, and your people. Then you will know there is no one like me on the whole earth. By now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague, and you would have been obliterated from the earth. However, I have let you live for this purpose: to show you my power and to make my name known on the whole earth.” Exodus 9:14-16 CSB
God’s Patience Is A Beautiful Thing
God’s Patience Exodus 9:15-16 We can see it in this passage of scripture and we learn to be so Awe-God grateful for it, because it is the way God’s purposes are slowly in play in our lives that shapes into us His wisdom and shows His Glory in and through us. I was listening to Tara Leigh Cobble who hosts the Bible Recap, and her God shot on this Exodus passage about God’s Beautiful Patience, and God inspired me, spoke to my heart this Awe-God Grateful message:
Don’t Rush God ~ A Great Work Is In Progress
We humans in our human condition, are always wanting to rush God’s plan! Now is when we want it, and we don’t want to yield to His Method’s His purposes in play! But step by step, He continues, and is working out His plan for our good and His glory. We are far less patient with God, than He is with the all of the everything in our lives, as we sometimes grow through very impulsively, not waiting on Him and making human messes. God writes our story slowly sometimes, as God’s unseen purposes work so very meticulously slow, or we think so, but it is not so for God. God is shaping us purposefully, designing us in His way by His methods. God is not rushed by our impatience. God can take our human messes and make glorious messages out of them. And for this, I am Awe-GOD Grateful!
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. 6 Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. 7 Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. 8 Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for. Proverbs 3:5-8
Slow 29-59 ~ God Ends Perfectly On Time
When the timing for our answer is slow, this can be very frustrating to us in our human condition of wanting everything when we ask for it. The truth is, we need to yield to God’s timing and learn to trust Him, be found in the reality of truth of the moment. It is good to learn to be patient with God, and experience the God wisdom in the purposes that are in play right now in our lives, instead of staying so focused on what and when we want things to occur. We want God to work right away, but sometimes He is right on time, in that 29-59 last minute kind of way. God’s timing is perfect and we need to learn to be Awe-God grateful for this incredible part of our personal relationship with God. God will finish well for us no matter how long it takes. Our mistake is that we make our life and our issues the center of our life, instead of making God’s life and God’s purposes in play the center of our lives. God Glory Is Important
God is slowly taking the many steps necessary to bring about His endgame, which includes good for us and glory for Him. Why is God glory important, why is it worth waiting for? God glory, will shout out to all in our sphere of influence Who God is in character and might. Glory is eye catching in a way they can’t look away or rationalize away. God Glory miraculously saves, heals and delivers! God shares that glory through our life story and the God purposes that are in play in our lives. For this, beautiful thing God does, I am so very Awe-God Grateful!
Patient Endurance Pays Off Bigly
We may “feel” frustrated waiting on God to finish what He started, but the truth is, as we patiently endure, we will see how God’s timeline, purposefully matters much more than what we want, and when we wanted it. The endgame that God brings forth as we patiently endure and wait on Him to finish what He started, is so much more glorious than we could ever have hoped for or imagined. At the moments where our patient endurance has concluded, and God has finished well, as His glory is shining brightly, this is when the Awe-GOD gratefulness kicks in and we stand in Awe of our God.
Even though I was helpless in the hands of my hateful, strong enemy, you were good to deliver me. When I was at my weakest, my enemies attacked— but the Lord held on to me. His love broke open the way, and he brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me—because his delight is in me! He rewarded me for doing what’s right and staying pure. I will follow his commands and I’ll not sin by ceasing to follow him, no matter what. Psalms 18:17-21 TPT
